Many reviewers have mentioned the strength of this novel to be the description of Auschwitz but I found main story line to be more compelling. It is the story of French Resistance fighters. Seven in ten of them died. They fought for an outcome most of them never saw. They are unsung heroes and while the work is fictitious, the facts are true.

Vivid, horrifying narration of "life" in Auschwitz. It was difficult to keep reading but impossible to put down. I feel compelled to read more by Lee Vidor.

I only gave it three stars not because it was poorly written or anything like that, I gave it three because of the nature of the book. It describes in graphic detail the ex terminations at Auschwitz. It is incredibly graphic and if you have a soul your skin will crawl and you will feel a deep sense if grief and even guilt for the victims of the holocaust. Yes I rated it three stars but that does not mean I don't think you should read it, because you should!! Yes we know it was awful, but for ...more

I'm not sure I'm glad I wrote this book.

It's so shocking and just plain mortifying.

It's an Amazon bestseller though.

People will be reading this for a hundred years and weeping with shock.

I suppose somebody had to write the authentic story of Auschwitz..

But I'm not sure it had to be me.

I'll read this again each year.

Whenever I can find the strength.
