I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to books. Anything that first insults my intelligence and then proceeds to teach me about something is not likely to end up on my bookshelf.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and got a lot out of it. As an amateur genealogist and historian and eager memoirist/family history writer and blogger, I found the chapters helped me to distinguish the difference between wanting to write a piece of fiction and a piece of history.
