This is sooo sweet! I love that it can apply to friendship between children, or to that special soul-mate love between adults. It's just so simple yet so true in its gentle, everyday reasons for liking someone--while showing that, really, the empathy found in those situations is the heart of it all.

Such a sweet book.
Perfect for friends, children, anyone.
It puts friendship in concrete terms that anyone will understand.
The last time I read it?
Aloud to a friend I had just made over the summer, at the airport, before he left to go home.

He came to sublet my room.
From the second he arrived, we were like two peas in a pod.
Only, this little pea had to leave.
We did get to spend some time together.
And we both talked about how crazy it was to just meet and then feel so close.
We were both sad that we...more

A joyous, sweet book about friendship. I bought it for my sister's birthday because it reminded me of a children's book she had when she was little, with its charming illustrations. I also chose the book for her because it gets at what is important in a real friendship - allowing someone to be themselves, accepting them for who they are and how they're feeling in the moment. This book is a small treasure with a big heart. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see their best friend smile.

One of the best books that I've read in years - seriously. One of the best things about children's books is that they don't beat around the bush. After the first page, I knew this was a book that I would have to buy...and give to my friends. Simple but touching.

Whether your friend is new to you or an old & dearly beloved, they would surely appreciate the sentiments of this little book. Which is sweet without being saccharine and perfect for that special crocodile in your life. - Dora-

Got this today for my birthday from the love of my life. Read it in one sitting and it beautifully encapsulates our relationship. The only way it could be better is if the word "like" was replaced with "love" :)

<3 just the cutest, "true blue" love described in this children's book. Give it as gift to your lover, child, etc. They'll love it & feel all fuzzy & warm inside just as you did while reading it.
