The video of the big battle in the last book has gone viral, and mortals are starting wonder if vampires are really real. So it falls to the harmless-bottle-fed-never-bit-a-human Gregori to be the poster child for vamps when doing damage control and trying to win the support from the President to officially 'debunk' the videos. Gregori became one of my favourite characters ever since I read the first book of the series (only the first book though) so even though I didn't really like the author-style I went ahead and gave this book a try.

Turns out I still don't like the way Ms. Sparks write about her characters. Perhaps I have a tendency to compare her to a certain author who gives their characters more passion and reason so I was certainly not feeling it with this series.

I liked it but I didn't love it. It was great to finally read Gregori's HEA, he really deserved it. I loved to see how he went from a fledgling to a real vamp-man, LOL. I'm not sure how to explain why I didn't enjoy this one so much, Mostly because the heroine was the president's daughter and the whole thing wasn't taken seriously. Despite the fact that I had a major problem with the premises of this book, as they made absolutely no logical sense, it was still fun and I mostly enjoyed it.

Kerrelyn Sparks keeps putting out books that you can't wait to read. Her latest outing, Sexiest Vampire Alive, throws in her usual wonderful blend of Paranormal, Romance, and comedy. "Sexiest Vampire Alive" may not be the most substantive of the series, it is however easily one of the most fun. This book's villains are not the usual Malcontents (which frankly could have become a tad tiresome...so glad they got their asses kicked in the last book), instead she throws in a little "Crouching Tiger...more Kerrelyn Sparks keeps putting out books that you can't wait to read. Her latest outing, Sexiest Vampire Alive, throws in her usual wonderful blend of Paranormal, Romance, and comedy. "Sexiest Vampire Alive" may not be the most substantive of the series, it is however easily one of the most fun. This book's villains are not the usual Malcontents (which frankly could have become a tad tiresome...so glad they got their asses kicked in the last book), instead she throws in a little "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" and some Bruce Lee movie elements into the mix, which I found very refreshing.

Gregori, is the handsome VP of Marketing for Romatech , the Vampire run multinational corporation, owned by Roman Draganesti, the hero in book one "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire". Romatech has its fingers in everything from Science, fake blood bottled drinks, to video and fashion. Gregori is in the middle of filming a very difficult commercial for his New Vamp Fusion drink "Blardonnay" (yes, it is really a mix of blood and chardonay). It is difficult to film because his Supermodel Vampire Actress Simone can't act. Hell, she can't even stand up without falling over in the outrageously super high heels she insists on wearing. She's being just impossible to deal with and stalling production of the commercial when he's called away to a heavy hitter meeting with Romatech's mucky mucks. And their goal is to prep him for an even heavier hitter meeting. Gregori is flattered on the one hand that he has been chosen for this mission but on the other hand, it just seems like one more example of how his peers find him to be...."harmless". Surrounded by warriors, he is the GQ looking businessman in the Armani suit, and he gets real tired of being called a fledgling. Just because he's only been a Vampire for ten years doesn't mean he couldn't be a bad ass if he tried....he thinks.

A few weeks earlier, the good vampires fought a bloody, heartbreaking and unfortunatley for Vampires everywhere, videotaped battle with the Malcontents and Gregori was not chosen to go to battle, something that eats at him. Malcontents are just what they sound like, vicious vampire bastards who don't want to drink from the bottle, but prefer to not only drink from humans, but kill them later. The video has gone viral on You Tube and the good vampires are freaking out. The genie has to go back in the bottle, and they have decided to try to make an alliance with the President of the United States. If he agrees to have his people do everything in their power to squash the video, make it seem like a fake, the good vampires are going to agree to work with the government. Just not, you know, be assasins for hire or anything like that.

Gregori, who is a relatively young Vampire (he was made into one in his twenties, about ten years ago), has never drank from a human and as the head of Marketing seems like the perfect choice to come out to the President and convince him that Vampires (at least the good ones) are harmless. The problem is, when he sees the President's daughter Abagail, he's in trouble. He is instantly attracted to her and he can't help but show off just a little bit that he isn't "harmless". In fact he may have given a General the idea he was going to kill him just to make a point. It is a good thing the President got the joke even if the General didn't, otherwise his little stunt could seriously put Vampire Human relations in jeopardy. Gregori promises himself he will toe the line and keep from acting the fool, but Abigail knocks Gregori out from the moment he sees her. He has to put the needs of all of the thousands of Vampires he is representing above his own desire to be with a woman of substance after ten years of being the playboy party vampire.

This would be alot easier, except POTUS and Abigail have an agenda. The President's wife is dieing and Abigail has a plan to save her Mother, and it will require Gregori taking her on a secret mission. That much forced time together is going to make Gregori's decision to leave the President's daughter alone, very difficult.

Kerrelyn Sparks "Love at Stake" novel is never going to be that deep book that has you shook up for days afterwards. It is going to be exactly what you want, when you want it. A light romp with fun characters who you root for to be happy. You are required to suspend ALL belief. In this world, the President of United States really doesn't mind if dangerous vampires take his two daughters night clubbing, or sneak them into a foreign country.

It is always fun to hear about if not see your favorite past characters. I love Dr. Phang, so I am really happy his book is going to come out soon. I like the funny one liners, the sheer silliness of the series makes me happy. "Blardonnay", who can't love the idea of Vampires creating their own specialty drinks and then making commercials starring difficult bitchy Supermodel Vampires who can't act.

When the vampire clan's secret identity becomes a critical problem, Gregori is ordered to protect all vampires by being a secret counsel to the President, a role he's trying to take extremely serious even though he's insanely attracted to the "first" daughter. To get what he wants, Gregori must accompany the President's daughter on a personal family mission of their own to China, but as one thing leads to another and danger looms too close for comfort, Gregori and Abigale must make a leap of their own into trust and love.

Kerrelyn Spark's book are usually a hit & miss for me, but this one was pure fun. What I enjoy most about her series is that her characters are crazy kooky and the male leads seem to contain a nice mixture of masculinity and vulnerability. The story was well written with lots of silly twists I didn't see coming. The chemistry created between Abby (aka "Scholar") and Gergori (aka "Gory") was constantly sizzling & intense. Plus, the side characters really added some enjoyment to the overall story without overshadowing a scene or coming off as annoying. Great Fall read!!!

Likes: "Sex on the Ceiling" OK that's HOT!!!

Dislikes: I listened to this on audio-book and some of the accents were a little (ok, A LOT!) off - which in itself was comically horrible!(less)

At the start of this book we find ourselves in a pickle with the Vamps trying to figure out a way to cover up the video. The President has agreed to have the video discredited if the Vamps will escort his daughter on a mission into China. Sparks fly from the very moment Gregori lays eyes on Abby, he has promised to keep her safe but who is going to keep her safe from him?
I came across this series a few years ago. During the time when I was beginning to out-grow the whole “twilight” phase. Originally I was skeptical, “it would just be another vampire romance.” That had started blending together into the same collage of characters. Kerrelyn Sparks managed to surprise me, she is actually funny! This book is no exception. I always enjoy the way Kerrelyn Sparks can keep things light-hearted and fun but also have the necessary suspense to keep you coming back for more from the maniacal Casimir, to the newest Evil Incarnate. The only problem some people may have is the romance can seem a bit rushed. The story takes place all in a few days’ time. Personally I can still feel the relationship building and I don’t mind as much, when you know, you know. Although a plus for Kerrelyn Sparks’ series is she keeps you up to date on all of her couples, but any book in this series can still be read as a stand-alone novel without losing the audience. I definitely recommend this book f you want a fun not too “sleazy” romance.

Abby Tucker is on a mission to save her dying mother. She doesn't have time to attend her father's state dinners, she's got to work in the lab and find a cure, which she only needs two more ingredients for. "Sexiest Vampire Alive" is the hilarious and sweetly romantic eleventh installment in the Love at Stake series by Kerrelyn Sparks. This book made me laugh from the first page; it reminded me of everything I love about this romantic series. Ms. Sparks voice is as fresh today as it was when she penned the first book, "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire", which incidentally was our first introduction to Gregori, the hero of this book. While you can read this as a standalone book, I really feel you should read this series from the beginning and in the order recommended, in order to grasp all of the nuances of the Love at Stake world.

Gregori Holstein is the youngest Vampire in his coven, he was turned in 1993. He's also somewhat unique, he's never had human blood, and all of his feedings have come via bottle, courtesy of Vampire Fusion Cuisine which is a product of Romantech Industries. While Gregori isn't ashamed of not having drunk human blood, he's upset the master Vampires consider him a "fledgling". Something he's determined to change. He never thought he'd be involved in saving his fellow Vampires or that he'd fall in love with the human daughter of the president.

Abby Tucker is a young and intelligent woman who's determined to save her dying mother. She doesn't have time to play and definitely doesn't have time to attend political dinners for her father; she's only got time to work in the lab creating a cure. When her sister tells Abby that their father is meeting with vampires and that they can fly and teleport in and out of locations, Abby realizes there's a chance she might be able to get the final two ingredients she needs to cure her mother's lupus. A vampire could teleport her in and out of the remote area in China where the healing plants exist. She just has to remind herself she's not falling in love with a Vampire.

The scenes between Gregori and Abby were fun to read, they have instant chemistry and good dialogue. While their relationship progresses easily and fairly fast, we do get to see them develop as a couple. Gregori and Abby have a few things in common, they're both devoted to their mothers, and they're hard working and smart. They just clicked as a couple, while there isn't any conflict to their romance, once Abby gets past Gregori being a Vampire, they do have conflicts they're both trying to overcome. Gregori wants to be taken seriously as a vampire, though he does love to sing "I'm too sexy for my fangs, too sexy for my cape", and be seen as more than a ladies' man and people pleaser. And Abby wants to win her race against time, something she's going to need lots of help with.

The secondary characters are mostly characters we've met in the series before, but it's always nice to see them again and discover more about them as the series progresses. I especially like Howard Barr, and his love of Bear Claws, and grumpy Sean Whelan, a CIA operative, who's now been turned into a Vampire himself and finds himself in the sticky position of having to prove to his team that he's still human. Ms. Sparks really knows how to write fun and witty characters for readers to fall in love with.

Will Gregori and Abby both be able to accomplish their missions? And will their love overcome the differences between them? You'll have to read "Sexiest Vampire Alive" to find out. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next book in this series "Wanted: Undead or Alive", which will feature everyone's favorite secondary character, Phineas McKinney, a.k.a. Dr. Phang.(less)

I bought this book a little before school finished and then I went travelling with my nook in hand, so I finally got the chance to read this last night.

I enjoyed the story, but there were moments where I felt like there was a little too much going on with the plot. First family, cancer, illegeally visiting countries, demons, angels, vampires, actors, marketing...

That said, everything did work out well enough in the end despite the plethora of characters and subplots.

As with any of Ms Sparks Love at Stake books, Sexist Vampire Alive was a great and fun read. Poor Gregori is a young vampire, and between being teased by the old vcampires, and being VP of marketingat Romatech, it is no wonder he has stress, and is forever ruining his stress balls. I absolutely hated... the fact that I couldn't put this book down. I had to force myself to do so because I wanted to draaaag out this funny, wonderful story! Gregori (Gori, for short - love that!) is in deep trouble -- he's been chosen to represent the Vampires to the President of the U.S. who's just learned that they exist. It's a tricky task balancing showing that Vampires are not to be feared while also trying to not look like a total wimp.

Among the other vampire being only eighteen years, he has not bitten anyone and is only fed by bottle. Female protagonist is Abigail, daughter of U.S. president, committed to finding a cure for his sick mother. And 'love at first sight, but the difficulties are many. The U.S. president will declare a false video and alleerà with our vampires only if Gregori and his friends, Abigail aiuterenno find three rare plants in China, a secret mission and delicate but also very dangerous, but the First Lady's life depends on it . Twelfth volume of the series, Sexiest Vampire Alive, this book preserves the originality, humor and intensity of emotions of the first. This does not happen in this book because the story is original and believable (as far as possible), the characters are realistic and well described. Gregori has been turned against his will but it does everything it can to be helpful and accept this condition, Abigail, being the daughter of the President had to obey and adapt to a life governed by the label and the love for her mother did put aside their own feelings to dedicate himself to research. Despite all they have much in common and decide to stay together and love each other even if they forget their duty towards family, friends, home. As always, love and romance in addition there is also action in this book, our heroes must fight the evil Master Han. Once again, the Sparks did not disappoint, have fun reading his books, but we also get excited and do not ever get tired because the plot is never equal to another.

Having put up with Gregori's disco arms and out-dated expressions such as "Hey, bro!" for ten books, I was eager to see who would fall for that. I'm joking, really, as I have a soft spot for the young vampire. Being a 'bottle-fed' corporate man, and thereby teased by his fellow warrior Vamps at Romatech, Gregori hides beneath a frivolous and womanising exterior, much to his mother Radinka's frustration.

The one person Gregori is not able to charm is the President’s daughter Abby. She is an independent scientist who has stayed off the publicity radar and wants to keep it that way. However, when she discovers that the vampires can teleport leaving the possibility of finding a cure to her mother’s illness shy Abigail becomes assertive Abby and gets them to help her find the missing ingredients to solve the mysteries around her mother's sickness.

The dangers are real as the dark forces of the Malcontents in the vampire world surround them and one mistake will cost them their eternal life. Secrecy is the key to any successful mission but one of the vampires has his own personal agenda that is distracting the team from getting what they need and getting back home. Gregori knows Abby will be safe with him as he is investing more than just a business relationship with her. The desire to see her life saved has taken on new meaning, as he wants more than he could ever imagine to have her life combined with his forever.

Gregori has another nightmare bigger and more sinister than anything he can control – his mother! She is forever in his life haunting him for grandchildren, and using every conceivable way to convince him that Abby is “the one.” Gregori loves his mother but this one he may have figured out on his own.

This series has held on for so long due to Ms. Sparks’s ability to write original and creative storylines. You have the basics but what Kerrelyn does with these characters is pure magic and allot of romantic fun that makes you fly through this book waiting for the next. Read them all and you will enjoy every one, I promise.

As with her previous books, this one has all of Kerrelyn Sparks' trademarks - a fast pace, sparkling humor, witty dialogue, likeable characters, and a sweet and sexy romance. These books are just so much fun. I have to admit, though, that I was a little worried about Gregori's story. He has a reputation as a playboy, and is rather smooth and urbane, qualities I find unattractive and unappealing in a hero. But I should have trusted in the author's skill at revealing characters to have more depth to their personalities. As with previous stories, she takes characters who were seemingly one-dimensional, and realistically reveals aspects of their personalities that are both new and seem quite natural, not forced. We learn that Gregori is really not a playboy, but has a gentle kindness and consideration for the feelings of others. At the same time, he has been training as a warrior with the older Scottish vamps, and can definitely protect himself and Abigail, the mortal he is falling in love with. Abigail is a great heroine - she is the seldom seen eldest daughter of the President, and has devoted her life and brilliant scientific mind to studying her mother's disease in an attempt to save her. She has spent most of her life in a gilded cage, surrounded by bodyguards and the Secret Service, her behavior always on display and judged in relation to her father's political career. She misses freedom, just as Gregori misses a life in the daytime, and feels he must always act the right way in order to blend in with the older vampires. They are a great match, and their attraction is believable and very sexy.
The big bad villain of this series has been Casimir, leader of the Malcontents, but he was killed at the end of the last book. But by the end of this story we see a return of Master Han, and the introduction of a Demon, so the plot thickens as the good guys have more fights in their future. I'm hoping the next book will be Russell's story - he was turned by Master Han during the Vietnam War, and left in a vampiric coma for 39 years.
Readers new to the Love At Stake series will easily enjoy this book, but will probably get more out of the series by reading it in order. There is much history between these friends, and their centuries long battle with the Malcontents.(less)

I have enjoyed this series from the start. It is always a pleasure to visit with this group, and Gregori's book is no different.

Gregori is such a fun character, and I was thrilled to see him finally get his own story. He’s always been so carefree, good-natured and adorable. We see another side of him in Sexiest Vampire Alive, and it’s interesting. He’s not just a sexy playboy. Nope. He has ambition, intelligence and can be very serious when it’s required.

Don’t get me wrong – he still plays his share of practical jokes (especially on Sean Whelan), and VANNA is still hanging around for fun, but when it counts, he settles down and does what needs doing.

I love that they found the perfect foil for Gregori’s heroine, Abigail. To be honest, I would have expected him to fall for someone like her sister: sexy, flighty, a little silly – sort of a Paris Hilton type. But his heart was nabbed by the more serious Abigail. She was so focused and scholarly, that when she did crack a joke, it was twice as fun (I loved “Gori”).

Truthfully, there really wasn’t much of a conflict in the story. A few things create tiny speed bumps: the fact that she’s the president’s daughter and he’s a vampire, issues regarding mind control ... but nothing really big until right at the end, and even that is rather easily overcome (though we do get reminded about the new “big bad”).

Regardless, I never even thought about putting this book down. The interaction between Abigail and Gregori was priceless, and I fell madly in love with Madison, too. Ms. Sparks strength is in her characters -- they are what keep us reading no matter what, and once again her book is populated with characters I cared about and wanted to follow.

Sexiest Vampire Alive is a book for someone who wants to enjoy the romance of two people falling in love without a lot of angst and high drama ...if they're in the mood for hot fun, then Ms. Sparks delivers.

Gregori is certain that the mission will go smoothly if only he can convince himself to keep his hands off the President’s beautiful daughter.

I have to admit to a certain bias in my review since I am a huge fan of Kerrelyn Sparks and her Love at Stake series. Her stories are witty and romantic and I just love all her characters. Connor and Gregori were two of my favorite characters and I have wanted to read their stories since we first met them in How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire. Although I was a little disappointed in Connor’s story which came out last March, I LOVED Gregori’s story. It had the perfect balance of witty banter, sexy flirtations and adventure.

I waited in eager anticipation for word to pass to Gregori’s mother, Radinka, that Gregori was showing a special interest in Abby, and I as not disappointed when Radinka showed up on their date.

The only disappointment is that after all the years of Gregori always teasing the vamps when they fall in love and flirting with their girlfriends to annoy them, I thought there would be a little more payback from his buddies once Gregori finally fell in love. They were too easy on him.

You don’t need to read the whole series to enjoy this story. But for us fans, this story was a wonderful addition to the series.

I don't where to start first.

Let's just start at the beginning, in this case the herione: Abby Tucker. I lost count how many times I wanted to slap her. Oh, what can we say about Gregori? I'm so happy that he finally found his place in the vampire world because he deserves it and he has always been one of my favorites. It was all those things that made him different from the others, his non alpha behavior combined with the super smarts that made him so appealing and a somewhat welcome change from the usual vampire stereotypes. Gregori just came across as a normal guy with normal guy insecurities.

I ADORE the Love at Stakes series so when I found out the Gregori's book was due out ON MY BIRTHDAY I could hardly wait! Once I finally got my hands on it, Sexiest Vampire Alive, I couldn't wait to read and so... I did. All night long!

I was not disappointed at all. Kerrelyn Sparks has created a Vampire World that I want to live in and love reading about. She makes it all seem so real and makes the Vamps so down to earth that you find yourself quite attached to them.
