I want to classify this book for different grade levels for different reasons. I would say it is acceptable for K-2 because of the pop-ups and the vibrant color. If the story was to be read, a teacher or parent might read to the child or read a long with them, a little bit at a time. I would classify this in an older category because of the passages. Older children love pop-up books too! The book was very interactive. Some of the pop-ups you could play with (the green balloon can be spun). The c...more

This is a serious pop-up. I classify it under picture books only because I don't know what else to do with it... the artwork is exquisite. I wouldn't let an actual child touch it too much, though... quite delicate. Also, unlike most pop-up books, the book contains the story with a lot of text. I highly recommend it.

I adore pop up books and this one is so intricate and clever you'll be looking at it for hours. The story is basic and leaves much of the original to your imagination (not a bad thing!)... but the cut outs and pop ups are why I love to look at this book more often than I'm willing to admit!

Ok, give me a break - I just adopted a 3 year old. I wish I had time for grown up books! This is a totally awesome pop-up however.

How I adored The Wizard of Oz. I read it twice when I was younger. Baum was refreshingly creative and hilarious. The characters and setting, no matter how bizarre or off the wall, never took away the believability I experienced. A classic gem!

This is work of sheer ingenuity and whimsy--I love pop up books and R.Sabuda is my favorite of them, but this one is my favorite of all of his amazing creations. Alice in Wonderland is good, too, but this one seems the best.

This book is an amazing work of art. Robert Subuda creates incredible pop-up books. It is definitely a book to read to a child as the designs are rather fragile.

One of Sabuda's finest pop-up books! His designs are amazing and will make even the grinchiest grown-up say, "WOW!" Just a tip, keep these books away from the the kids.

Beautiful pop-up! Some of the best pop ups I have seen. It's amazing how much detail can come out of a folded page!

I didn't like the story any better than the original, but the pop-ups were amazing.
