This Disney version of the traditional Cinderella very short with not all details I’ve come to know. The illustrations are bright and colorful. Cinderella is the typical blond beauty, and the prince the handsome brunette. Cinderella’s dreamed of going to the ball, and meeting the prince and falling in love, but after her step sisters ruined her dress she stayed home. Her fairy godmother appeared and poofed her into beautiful clothes, and sent her on her way with the midnight curfew. After rushin...more

This is a Disney story so we know it is bland. This version changes many things. There is no carriage. The stepsisters are mean, but they made the dress. There is no shoe.

It's a beginning reader book. For that purpose, this book is fine.

I good telling of the story up until the ball. While meant as an early reader, it works fine as a read aloud. Natalie enjoys it.
