This was another enjoyable visit to the town of Sweet Briar, South Carolina. I started off not really liking the character of Leona in this one, but then things are revealed which made me change my view of her. There is also the introduction of a new member to the Sewing Circle.I did think the mystery was a bit easy to figure out, and was wrapped up really quickly at the end, but it was a fun journey to the reveal. This was an entertaining addition to the series, and I look forward to my next vi...more

The Southern Sewing Circle ladies are at it again...they are fully mixed up in the latest and quite spectacular murder to hit the gentle streets of Sweet Briar, South Carolina.
This time it is a harmless (or was it?) comment made to Leona, passed on to Margaret Louise by our main sleuth, Tori. Just a comment that evolved into a death of opportunities, for some.

Amidst the huge offering there are some cozies that simply have a greater appeal than others. Like Elizabeth Lynn Casey's Southern Sewing Circle mysteries for instance. I was sold from the moment I read Sew Deadly, the first book in the series, because all the things that I like to see in my cozies just came together. An irresistible close-knit community, great characters, good plot and lots of charm. It's that combination along with that special spark that makes me reach for the latest Casey th...more

One of the things I hate about starting a new series is that you never know if they'll be outstanding or underwhelming. Unfortunately, I found this the latter. Nearly 300 pages and absolutely no effort is made toward the investigation of the crime until the last 100 or so pages. No clues are uncovered until the last 50. Too much time was spent on subplots involving other characters. I love libraries, but I really don't need to hear all about the new children's room half a dozen times. Fewer remi...more
Quaint, cozy, Sweet Briar is about to get full of drama, lots of drama! Warren Shoemaker has chosen Sweet Briar to be the setting for his next movie. Everyone in Sweet Briar, including every member of the Southern Sewing Circle is dreaming of stardom hoping to be cast as an extra in the movie. One of the members even plans to snag a leading role. Tori Sinclair is the lucky one to actual earn a part as an extra. She is very excited to step out of the library and into a movie based on one of her f...more
I absolutely adored this series at the beginning, but it seems to be fading for me. This time, a movie will film some scenes in Sweet Briar, so everyone is there for the casting call for extras. Tori is chosen, but Leona has her sights set on the female lead. I just couldn't pull off that last leap of faith, I guess. It's still an adorable series, set in a small southern town, and Tori has settled in nicely. Most of the secondary characters are delightful, including Leona. Nice cosy reading.
A new Southern Sewing Circle Adventure is always fun. The town is excited by the news a movie will be made on the village green and everyone is welcome to try out to be an extra. Librarian Tori Sinclair makes the cut but when the leading lady is found murder and a member of the sewing Circle is the main suspect Tori jumps back into action to help out her friends. The plot is solid but some of the character act so silly I'm not sure I'll be visiting with this circle again.
I always enjoy this cozy series. Perfect for library lovers, fans of small towns, and those, of course, who love to sew. I don't sew, but I do love Tori's strong friendships and the little details of her library life. This is definitely a series to read in order so that you can enjoy the evolving relationships. The plot line around Lenona and Margaret Louise's mother was an excellent addition.
I have read all 6 books in this series and they are enjoyable partly because they take place in SC where I lived for many years and each one includes a sewing project. This one seemed a little weak in storyline, but it's a cute cozy read - nothing deep, nothing to keep me turning pages into the night.
A fun read and a nice visit with the ladies of the sewing circle. Sometimes I felt like it was taking Tori a little longer than usual to connect the dots but I still enjoyed the book so I wasn't hung up on that. I love Paris the bunny and look forward to more of Leona's hijinks with her. Also looking forward to Tori's wedding planning which she can hopefully focus on a bit more in the next book. Love this series!!
Reap What You Sew is a nice addition to the Southern Sewing Circle series. Adding in a new circle member brings to life the issues a lot of women face in today's world, being sandwiched in between their own family, the grand kids, and their own parents. Ms. Casey weaves a tale of mystery around a family dynamic that hits home to many. Great, great read.
