This was an okay little romance that held my attention and provided a fast and entertaining read. Unfortunately the author could not make up her mind if she was going for a silly soap opera romance without reality contact or going instead for gritty realism. Unfortunately for me, she allowed too much soap to sneak in, whereas I personally thought both the romance and the mystery would have been more gripping if she had chosen the taut gritty realism path, thus making the characters, their ...more

I enjoyed the Chikawaca background in the story but the pace was too slow for me and more than once I was tempted to just give up and stop reading it.

I made it till the end and although there were a few things I liked in this novel overall it wasn't enough for me to say I liked it.

I loved this book! When love gets in the way of loyalty, which should take precedence? Why should one be chosen over the other? I really enjoyed this story and the roller-coaster ride it became.
