Although in many ways this book was predictable, I quite enjoyed it. I would love to walk the Thames Path myself some day, but am not sure this book did anything to inspire me to - rather it drew my attention to the path, of which I have previously been unaware. Both the author and his wife are keen photographers. The book could could have been far more interesting with more photos to accompany the text. Having walked some of the Thames Path I was looking forward to reading this account of two people who took on the challenge. While it was nice to follow their progress from the source, along the river to the Thames Barrier I did not enjoy the style of writing. I found it pedestrian (no pun intended) and at some points quite tedious, was it necessary to insert an advertisement for her favourite coffee chain in every chapter?
