So instead of following her high school sweetheart to L.A., she stayed on at his family's ranch, training the horses she adored. Zack never knew about the secret she carried...or how much she still ...more

Such a sweet, romantic story! I was enchanted from the very first page and swept off my feet as the story unfolded. Zack and Jenny were perfect for each other in so many ways, but blinded by dreams they thought they wanted. I really loved how this story grew and evolved. When Zack and Jenny shared the responsibility of taking care of Silas, Zack's father, they both had to reassess their dreams and their lives. It wasn't one sided and it really helped build the story into a beautiful tale.

When Jenny Farber calls Zach Decker, asking him to come home, he never questions her...he just heads home. When he finds out why she calls him home (she suspects there is something wrong with his father) he leaves just as fast as he got there.

Fast forward three months and we have Zach once again receiving a call from Jenny. This time it's to tell him that his father has had a heart attack and to come home.

Once home, Zach is forced to re-evaluate everything he thought he knew about the life and

Two kids from dysfunctional families grow up and discover that their families don’t define nor predict what they themselves will become. The road that leads them to that truth and the love they find along the way is what this story is all about.

Parents aren’t perfect and sometimes the choices they make concerning themselves have lasting impact on their children. Kids only see it from their limited perspective but the hurt is just as
This novel is about home and family, learning and growing. It's also about learning where your place in life is or possibly who anchors you to the world. I really enjoyed reading the novel, however I am picky and noticed a few loose ends which drives me bat shit crazy. If you don't care about things like that and just like the overall story than this novel is right for you.
I liked the idea of splitting Jenny and Zack but at the same time, something was missing in between. there wasn't any rational reason for hating his father just because his parents had argument. some part of the story was clarified by author, it was just vague.
It was an okay read. Just kept repeating about them not being able to live together because they were so different. It was a sloooow read for me. I couldn't get motivated to read it, so I kept stopping and taking breaks.
