This is a very interesting book about the mythology of forests and the Green Man archetype.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I think one of my favorite aspects was how Varner points out the similarities between different Gods/Goddesses/Spirits/Religious and how some beliefs prevail (such as the Green Man) during times when other groups (in this case mostly Christianity) were trying to banish the old ways. VERY interesting read, some parts are drier and harder to get through and at times it can be repetitive, but at the same time it was very informational.
