Oh where to even start?? I really had high hopes for this one, I mean just look at that cover! Unfortunately the contents of the book does not live up to the awesomeness that is that cover.

Characters...well there really isn't much to say about any of them. Even Leah the main character is still a mystery to me except for the fact that she hates the life that is being handed to her on a silver platter. I understand wanting more out of your life but I mean come on she didn't have to More...

Lesson learned from "Kiss Crush Collide" - vivid, telling descriptions do not make a cohesive story between two characters, especially if your two primary leads are about as interesting as watching paint dry. No, I wouldn't say they're that uninteresting, but I don't think they ever realized their full potential to make the work amount to more than what it offered. It didn't live up to the description of the book all that much.

The cover of this, in my opinion, is breathtak More...

What first drew me to KISS CRUSH COLLIDE by CHRISTINA MEREDITH, was in fact the cover. The title, not so great, yet it sounded interesting enough. I’ve been increasingly attracted to young adult books since my teenage daughter got me hooked on one. Each one she’s suggested was wonderfully written. KISS CRUSH COLLIDE was no exception.

Leah Johnson had her life planned out. Not that she did any of the planning. Nope, there was no need for that when she had a mother and two sisters bef More...

I love love stories. And it’s no wonder with how many romance books I read in a month that I wanted to read Kiss Crush Collide as soon as I read the summary. It fit my love of forbidden romances and bad boys who fall for good girls, so I’m so glad I was able to get a hold of an ARC thanks to Around the World ARC Tours.

This book is told through Leah’s eyes. She’s just finished her Junior year of high school, has a cute boyfriend, gets good grades, is popular herself… she seems to have More...

I received this book among many others from NCTE. I saw that they had put them out and I read the back and I liked the synopsis. I thought that the book had a good plot line and if could be a very easy read. I mean come on....I girl in high school who has it all.... I need her life.

This book was such an easy read that when I would sit down to read it, I would read like 100 pages in 45 minutes. I don't normally read that fast but the book helped me through it. The main character More...

I was excited to read Kiss Crush Collide. The back of the book compares itself to Perfect Chemistry which is a book I love. I admit I was disappointed. The storyline is girl is living a life shadowed by her two older sisters. She is expected to be as 'perfect' as they are and follow in their footsteps. She has a neurotic over bearing Mother and a clueless Father. It appears she has the perfect life, perfect friends, perfect boyfriend. Then one night at the country club a porter that takes More...

Kiss Crush Collide is a contemporary YA romance that I read in one day and enjoyed quite a bit. It was fun and engaging, but there are a few things I wish were a little bit more developed. In my opinion, there were three main storylines in the book that I'll mention here and talk about a little bit:

1. Leah & Porter. Leah is so lucky - she's bea More...

I have been waiting for Kiss Crush Collide since I had it on my Recommendation List at Goodreads, and liken it to Simone Elkeles’ Perfect Chemistry – I just knew I had to read it ASAP. But I was bound for a big disappointment.

Kiss Crush Collide is a quick read, about a perfect girl from a perfect family who fell in love with a not so perfect boy. The cover was stunning, it was sweet, I was expecting a romantic interlude between a boy and a girl. Instead, the story focused more on Leah More...

Kiss Crush Collide is touted by the publishers as a book that would appeal to fans of Perfect Chemistry, John Green, and Sarah Dessen. I think this sets the reader up for unrealistically high expectations. The novel may have that theme of forbidden romance like Perfect Chemistry but that is where similarities end. We don't really get to see the romance develop between the characters. Instead there is instant attraction and stolen kisses in borrowed cars. They make out the first time they meet an More...

When i first saw this book I couldn't wait for it to come out so I can read it and now when i did I'm really disappointed, the plot sounded so interesting and now i can't think of even one think i liked in the whole book, it really boring with nothing happening, the storyline is good but this book can be better like to know more about Duffy and Leah, there was not explanation about how they had fallen for each other, there was nothing about Duffy's life, his feelings, there wasn't dialogue betw More...

I'm sorry I couldn't even finish this book, so I skimmed to the end. I was saved from reading 150+ pages of Leah whining about being the shadow to her (srzly, there's three of them? unbelievable) hot and smart sisters (even though Leah is smart and hot too), her douche boyfriend, and her "attraction" with Mr. Mysterious Porter who I don't even know who the hell is even at the end of the book revelation.

All Leah does is

If you have ever been in love—I mean REALLY been in love—you will agree that all your senses operate in a new way: Colors look different; sounds are more pronounced; you notice things that you would never before; you make mistakes. In short, your brain works in mysterious (and new) ways. Take the example of biting into a fresh peach. When you are in love, such a mundane action take on whole new levels of fireworks.

The way this book was written is more realistically from the vantag More...

When I saw this book my first thought was MUST HAVE ! So that being said I had high expectations, especially since it was being compared to Perfect Chemistry one of my all time favorites.

It wasn't bad, but it did leave me a little disappointed. Being that the book I received is an ARC I guess not everything is set in stone but I felt like everything was incomplete.

Kiss Crush Collide is being billed as a readalike for Simone Elkeles and John Green, amongst others. I can kind of see the Simone Elkeles comparison but honestly, this book is so, so far below the level of Elkeles and Green that I truly cannot appreciate the comparison.

(Also, is this not one of the cheesiest covers you've ever seen??)

Synopsis: Leah has the life most high school girls would kill for—popularity, glowing grades, a rich, athletic boyfriend. So why does she fe More...

So many people strive for perfection, but Leah Johnson is flawless without trying. Leah and her family are so perfect they almost seem to shine, but Leah is unhappy. She has never had to work in order to achieve. Being the youngest daughter of her family of five, Leah’s older sisters have paved the way for her excellence. Leah only needs to show up and perform what others expect from her. All this is changing, though. Yorke, Leah’s eldest sister, is getting married at the end of the summer and F More...

I really really wanted to read this book after I saw the cover.
I was so disappointed I shouted at myself for a judging a book by its cover.

Aspects I did not like

I basically skimmed this whole novel. I was interested at the beginning, knowing how this was supposed to go, but the dialogue was so sparse and the characters were kind of harsh so I didn't really get into this book. I heard lots of hype and really good things, and this one just didn't live up to it for me. Plus I was in a rush, but I don't think that my opinion would change if I took it slower. No one really said much. And the rivalry between Valerie and Leah seemed strained and forced. Not my More...

Ugh. Just, ugh. A girl who has everything and feels out of place is one thing, but a spoiled girl who cheats on her boyfriend over and over without guilt - not that he's perfect, but still - and makes out with a guy you just met is just not cool. Add personality to the characters, a better writing and story development, and then you may get a book that deserves to be compared with Simone Elkeles and John Green.

I'm sure people will love this one. After all, different oppions on somethi More...

REVIEW ORIGINALLY POSTED http://hobbitsies.net/wordpress/2011/12/...

I heard a lot of mixed things about Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith initially. But honestly, I actually really enjoyed this book. And I can say that as someone who typically does not like romance focused YA. I mean, Kiss Crush Collide was compared to Perfect Chemistry, which I didn’t jump for joy over, so I would think that I would be the girl who didn’t like it.

The biggest complaint I heard about More...

My reasons for reading this book were very skewed. Almost like the book itself. I had zero plans to read this novel; most of my friends disliked the book and I don't enjoy reading romance, which the book is centered around. Then a librarian friend of mine asked me if I would read and review the book for our public library. I agreed, because she's my friend and I love reviewing books. But from the beginning I had a feeling this book just would....suck. And I'm sad to say that my prediction -- whi More...

This book is about the typical teenage girl who feels like she is trapped in the shadow of her two older sisters and never gets to live life the way that she wants to, only the way her parents want her to. All her life her choices have been made for her and now when she meets Duffy from the country club and spends the night making out with him, she begins to realize she wants more out of life the life her two sisters had when they were her age. She continuously meet up with him and gets to know More...

I was pretty excited to receive Kiss Crush Collide for review. The cover is very sexy and the book is recommended for "romance fans of Perfect Chemistry". That would be me.

I admit I had certain expectations going in that weren't met. I also think it's a disservice to the reader to compare this book to PC. I know a lot of people were really disappointed with this read, expecting it to be like Elkele's Perfect Chemistry, I however did not, which may be why I actually did in fact like this book.

I learned long ago to not compare two different works, or at the very least, not to go into a book expecting it to be like the work of someone else. After all, no two people are alike and even writers that have similarities between them are still very much different and More...

Christina Meredith's Kiss Crush Collide is the story of Leah who is living a somewhat perfect life. She gets good grades and has the perfect athletic boyfriend. Leah isn't happy though because she is living the life that her two older sisters have already lived. Everything changes the night she meets Porter at the country club. Porter is everything that her mother and sisters disapprove of but Leah can't stop thinking about him.

“Kiss Crush Collide” è uno di quei libri che ho scoperto l’estate scorsa su Goodreads, che volevo leggere e che usciva solamente a Novembre 2011 per Harper Collins e quindi ho dovuto aspettare un po’ per leggere. Ma devo dire che avevo aspettative troppo alte. Non fraintendetemi il libro mi è piaciuto, ma non si è rivelato quello che mi aspettavo.

With the promise of Elkeles' Perfect Chemistry and Sarah Dessen reminiscences I jumped at the chance to read this book. How could I not!?! And yes, while these books are all predictable and tend to follow a very similar plot line, it is the journey I go through as well as the characters that I find unique.
