Currently, I'm up to Episode 10 of Season 7 of Monk on the Netflix Instant Watch, which means I'm pretty close to the end of the series. How do you get more Monk if eight years wasn't enough? One thing that occurred to me is reading the Monk novels by Lee Goldberg (or more to the point, listening to the book through Audible). While I could have started with the first Monk novel, Mr. Monk Goes to the Firehouse, I decided to skip that one as it was adapted to a Season 5 episode and opt for a nove

Let me start by saying I find Goldberg's Monk books to be a little like updated Agatha Christie's. They are quick, fun mysteries that are almost always readable in a day. They sweep you along, and while not too deep, they give you the clues you need to solve right along with Monk, Marple, Poirot, Tommy and Tuppence, etc.
This was no exception to the fun, but I found it familiar. While I'd like to feel good about solving the main mystery very early, I think it may have actually been a More...

I love the Monk books as much as I love the TV show. Mr. Monk is a detective who the San Francisco police department call in when they have a very difficult case. In this book, just as they are starting to investigate a murder, the police department gets the "blue flu", because of contract negotiation are not going the way they want them to. The Mayor tells Monk he could get back on the force if he helps with the case.

Mr.Monk and the Blue Flu; by Lee Goldberg is a book about Monk. Monk has OCD. When the police force goes on strike Monk gets his job back. His team is a bunch of psycho, demented freaks. When stopping a serial killer and a string of murders is on the line. Can Monk pull his squad together and stop this madness. This book hooks you and keeps you guessing until the culprit is revealed.
I like this book because it gives you a thought and slowly reveals it giving you possible theories. I More...

When a 'blue flu' hits the San Fransisco police department during contract negotiations, Mr. Monk becomes acting chief of homicide. To make up for the lack of officers, some other folks who lost their badges are hired back on too. Monk winds up with a defective detective squad. There's a senile old man, a paranoid lady who wears a tin foil helmet, and a guy who just likes to shoot things a little too much. Best of all, they each have their own assistant! Natalie thinks they should form a support

Monk masih selucu biasanya...
tapi buku ini agak2 lebih nge-dragging dari biasanya...entah terjemahannya yang cenderung 'biasa' aja, atau memang di buku ini pengarangny lagi 'enggak niat'? hahaha...

If you think the plethora of phobias plaguing detective Adrian Monk is insufferable, wait until he is reinstated to the San Francisco Police Department as acting captain of homicide. When the Blue Flu strikes the SFPD, including Captain Leland Stottlemeyer and Lt. Randy Disher, the mayor reinstates Monk along with three other former detectives, each with their own mental issues....and assistants. Much to the chagrin of Stottlemeyer, Monk happily accepts the job of commanding the "scabs"

Fortunately for me just about all of our children have watched the Mr. Monk television series with us. I mention that because the novels written by Lee Goldberg (just as a side note, please go to Lee Goldberg’s website and read his bio, hilarious) are excellent novels for a few reasons. One, they are a great read on the beach or at poolside, two, even without the show they are an excellent read by themselves, and last but not least, there are now nine in the series and they are easy to share and

I'd read this once before, but I was in such a hurry to finish it (both because I was so eager to see how the mystery would turn out, and because I wanted desperately to get to the next book in the series, which featured the return of Sharona), I had forgotten much of it. I enjoyed it all the more my second go round because I was taking my time with it -- and I fully appreciated the eclectic characters on Monk's new team of detectives this time. (Chow is my favorite; she's wonderful.) Monk getti

Oh I miss Monk... the TV series.. and the boyfriend loves the books and I didn't have anything to read so I read it. It was great! There's like 3 episodes in one book and I found myself laughing out loud and reading aloud parts to my boyfriend and he was laughing too! Moving on to the rest of the series. The only reason it took my so long to read it was because I only read it when I was at my boyfriend's house while he was on the computer. Overall an entertaining read with AHA! moments that

I found this book by accident at the library. But since I like the TV show, I decided to read it. I think I liked it because it was just like watching the TV show. It was written in such a way that I could actually hear the characters I know from TV speaking in the book. Certainly not a life-changing book, but those are the best kind when you're at the gym ;-)

3.5 stars. I liked that characters in Monk's temporary police squad while the rest of the police force is on strike. They were a little stereotypical, but very entertaining.
I love the Monk TV series and it was fun to read a new "episode" from Natalie's point of view. I loved it that Natalie wants the sidekicks to form a support group.

I am a fan of the TV series "Monk" and this book was written in the same way; same charters, etc... I guess I was surprised to see that the book followed the TV series; or perhaps the TV series followed some of the books first? I'm not sure, but I enjoyed the reading and recommend it for those who enjoy quirky characters.

I njoyed the book and thought it was enjoyable
It is about how Mr Monk gets to run a police department with 3 ex detectives who have all got issues-anger managment, paranoi etc while the cops are on strike - (all ill as police are not allowed to strike!!)
What I found was fustrating was the fact that everyone else was allowed a gun (the parnoid, teh angermanment etc) all who were an actual danger to others but monk who is supposed to be the captain and also who hasn't got More...

This was a funny book. Monk was asked to take over the detective squad as commander after the regular officers staged a blue flu in a plan for the officers to get a better contract with the city. The bad news is that makes Monk a scab, and he doesn't like the sound of that. But he has his badge back. So does "Mad Jack" a violent sociopath, paranoid schizophrenic, and a senile old man, all former offers who had also been asked to come back. So they pull together to catch an astrologers

I think I didn't get into this one as much simply because it's earlier in the series...I didn't get enough of Natalie and maybe Mr. Monk wasn't as quirky as I'd like. Or maybe I'm just so sick this week nothing is making me feel better *sniff*

Due to the blue flu, Mr Monk is temporarily reinstated and promoted to Captain. He does a great job of solving some tricky cases, along with his ragtag band of emergency replacement officers.

Just when I thought Monk was gone forever, I find a series of books to read. Woohoo! They are told from the perspective of his assistant Natalie and a whole lotta fun.

This might be my least favorite of the Monk series so far, but I still really enjoyed it.

Baca Mr Monk jadi teringat sama Sherlock Holmes, or Poirot.
Mereka cuman menatap aja langsung bisa menemukan banyak hal...!
Cuman bedanya Mr Monk hidup ddi jaman sekarang plus memang tadinya anggota Polisi.
Sayang filmnya jarang diputar disini.
Kali ini Mr Monk harus behadapan dengan penjahat yang hobi mencuri sebelah sepatu korbannya. Mr Monk juga harus bekerja dengan bantuan beberapa mantan detektif yang memiliki aneka kelebihan istimewa. Mr Monk juga terpaksa "m More...

I am a fan of the deductive reasoning that Monk uses and adore his quirkiness.
The San Francisco police dept have all called in with the Blue Flu (on strike) When the Mayor re-instates Monk as captain , Monk and his three assigned former officers have to solve the case of a killer who takes only the left shoe of his victim. Meanwhile there is the case of the death of an astrologer who might have upset the wrong person and some misc murders that don't seem connected until Monk is able More...

This book as all other books involving Mr.MONK are hilarious. If you have ever seen the TV show the you know that Monk has obsesive compulisive disorder and it if very funny to watch!!! Love this book.

I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, but it was very similar to the TV Series...which is my FAVORITE show. Some parts of the characterization were a bit off for me, but for the most part the story matched something you could picture on the show. The plot was sufficiently intricate, and I was unable to solve the murder quicker than Monk. I also enjoyed that the story was narrated by Natalie, his assistant. I am sure I will be reading more from this series!

I really like watching the t.v. series 'MONK' and was curious how the books compare. The books definitely provide more insight into the thoughts and reasons behind some of the behaviours of the characters. However, the show really exhibits the characters personalities which are better than what I conjure up in my mind.
The books I have read so far are written from Natalie Teeger's point of view. These books are 'light and easy' to read.
