US Attorney Marshall Jackson's newest case is the assassination of a Supreme Court justice. The guy was hated by a lot of people and the case gets complicated fast and Marshall's life gets into the mix. The plot sounds ordinary and it kind of is but the telling of it is way above ordinary. This is the kind of book that just comes alive. I feel like, now, having finished it, that I want to call up a couple of the characters and see how they are doing, ask what's new, etc. It's a wonderful read.

That's the simple description of what is a more complex story of multiple story lines involving race, personal relationships and conspiracy.
