Don't judge this book by its cover, which I thought was very unappealing, it was so much better.

This was a very mature Young Adult read. I have seen this stated in other GR friends' reviews and completely agree. Not even sure it should be classified as YA except that the heroine, Jocelyn, was senior in high school and Alex was 23, just finishing his master's at Yale.

Alex meets Jocelyn when he comes home from college for a 4 month break before his internship begins. Jocelyn is best friends...more

I'm sure Stephenie Meyer was pretty attached to her characters too (the Cullens and the Swans). It's a pity that when Ella Jade pulled her story as a Twilight fanfiction pi...more

I read this after a recommend from a friend, and I have to say this was really good!! I just fell in love with the characters, and I was so desperate for Jocelyn to have her happy ever after!

Jocelyn had heard about Alex through his family, having spent so much time with his brother Evan (LOVED this guy!!) working on a class project together. Alex had been her secret obsession ever since she'd seen pictures of the gorgeous man, and she'd listened to family stories of him intently enough to feel...more

First of all, buy from Noble Young Adult! https://www.nobleyoungadult.com/ It's a lot cheaper – $1.99 versus $5.50 at Amazon.

Such a sweet book! I definitely agree with everyone else - don't let yourself be put off my the corny cover.

In her senior year, sweet and shy Jocelyn befriends the ever-popular and hunky Eric Jordan. When his smart, ivy-league brother comes home from school for a 4 month break before his internship, the minute he lays eyes on Jocelyn he is smitten. They both are. Despite A...more

I liked this book. It was a spur of the moment read. I was cruzing and this one popped up and suited my mood of the moment.

I thought it was a YA read - wrong. It had a few steamy moments probably not suitable for the normal YA audience.

I'll first tell you why I didn't give this book a another half star or so. It felt a bit clunky in certain parts. Like the story hit a bit of a speed-bump. It would roll smoothly along and then there would be a "bump" moment. Either the dialogue didn't ring...more

I loved this book! The characters were awesome and not just the main ones. Alex has parents and two siblings and they're all very close, where Jocelyn only has her dad and they dont really talk. Alex and Jocelyns lifestyles are different. Alex family is wealthy and Ella and her dad isnt. Ella created a story that is fantastic and if you think the blurb sounds good, read the story. The blurb doesnt even compare to the real thing. This story hooked me and i couldnt put the book down till i was don...more

I know the cover isn't great but the story is.

In the book we are introduced to Jocelyn while she is contemplating looking at the pregnancy test she just took. The book switches to flashbacks of how she met Alex and all the firsts she got to experience with him (first date, kiss, and her first time having sex)

Jocelyn and Alex make the mistake of having unprotected sex one night. It results in a surprise pregnancy but also a secret kept by Jocelyn. Alex is leaving for a couple of months so Jocelyn...more

I was browsing for stories that has something with the 'Brothers Best Friend' genre and Boy am I glad I found this.

The very first time I read the synopsis, I knew have to buy a copy and put down whatever book I was reading at the moment.
So at the wee hours of the morning, there I was buying this one and is done reading it overnight! It was crazy impulse but defo worth it!

I'm really not a fan of stories where high school girls get pregnant because they don't usually have the best ending. I've re...more

Jocelyn's Choice was a super sweet, coming of age romance novel. Jocelyn and Alex, the two main characters, couldn't be more different. She's in high school. He's already graduated from college. She's shy. He is outgoing. She doesn't have many friends. He has a pretty active social life. She's completely inexperienced. He's very experienced. She was raised by her dad. He was raised by his two parents. She's an only...more

I thought this was a short and sweet read. I really loved how Alex changed from a playboy to a loving man for Jocelyn. He spent his youth using women because they allowed him to. Jocelyn is an innocent, shy young woman in her senior year of high school when she starts hanging out with Evan, Alex's younger brother. I really liked how Jocelyn and Evan never even thought of dating each other, they just knew they were meant to be friends. I really didn't like Brenna and Julia. The way they treated J...more

This was okay. I would have given it one and a half stars if I could have. I knew that it was fanfiction before I read it, but I had hoped that it was going to be different. I didn't read the fanfiction before I read this but I could basically tell who each character was.

Jocelyn was Bella. Klutziness, Police Chief father, etc. I don't know why those things were kept in the book. Its not like Max had to be a police chief, or that Jack had to be a doctor.

It doesn't really straddle the YA/Adult l...more

EPIC!!!!! If I would have wrote a book based on the same situation, I wouldn't have changed a thing!!! Started the book at 7 pm and finished at 11pm.
I fell head over heels in love with the Characters. I loved Alex's parents. They were so loving and supportive of every decision Jocelyn and Alex made. I also thought Jocelyn's character was perfectly written. I could feel every emotion she could feel.

Jocelyn becomes friends with the ever so popular boy Evan Jordan. While working on class project together at his house she runs in to his brother Alex. Alex is much older than our HS senior Jocelyn by about 5 years. Once Alex see's Jocelyn he is taken by her looks, flirts with her decides he would like to take her out on a date. She's never been on a date or had a boyfriend. She is truly an innocent girl who is swept up by Alex, as she has heard stories about him and has seen plenty of his photo...more

A very good story about young love and mistakes made.

Jocelyn is a young girl who fell hard for a much older guy (not really THAT old). It's one of those times wherein the love-at-first-sight really worked for me. I love how they got together and how they learned everything about each other. It was a very realistic take on how things go for young couples nowadays...even Jocelyn's reaction to the pregnancy was very believable. I understood her feelings completely. I'm happy that when Alex found ou...more

This was a great read. I would defo say this book falls under the motto dont judge a book by its cover.

The cover gives this book a feel of being rather old and unattractive to the younger adult age group, but this book is infact one of the most realistic protrayls of that coming of age time on a teen/YA life, and really gave a refessing realistic portrayl of how that feels.

It is a book that has everything we love most in YA books, a geourgous hero character that is the older more experienced one...more

This books is probably a really good example of " Don't judge a book by its cover"
I know the cover isn't really that good, but the story was good and I liked the writing style
And Alex is DEFINITELY going on by book boyfriend list. He's that guy that every girl wants to meet in life :P
But I found the plot pretty predictable, because its the same as most guy meets girl pregnancy stories. if it had more twist and turns I'd give it a higher rating. Overall it was a good read

I didn't care for this book, which is clunky and melodramatic. It relies on awkward flashbacks to summarize the events that took place before the pregnancy. This technique does not work well here.

The book is also full of annoying characters, most of whom act like junior high kids. The plot and events start to feel like a bad soap opera. Constant misunderstandings, a nefarious seduction scene, jealousy, and a brush with possible death all make an appearance. It was just too much for me.

Very interesting story line one that mimics real life more often then people would like to think. I loved the way Ella captured the emotional roller coaster that a young person would feel. I feel this is a must read for teens who are thinking about having sex. It shows that even a mature person can make that mistake that changes your life forever. I look forward to seeing what else Ms. Ella can create from her beautiful mind.

I'd give 3.5 stars, the story is not unique but sweet nice. A girl whose a virgin, never dated, kinda shy yet becomes the best friend to a fellow class mate whose the hottest guy and she falls for his older brother Alex. Basically brother Alex whose been a player sees her in his house in the kitchen and instantly wants to get to know her and they begin to date during the 4 months he's there before he takes his internship. Needless to say they hook up repeated but one night they weren't prepared...more

The cover is not very appealing.. but that's why you never judge a book by it's cover! I loved this book.. I loved the writing style and the romance was just really special.. Alex is my ultimate book boyfriend he is exactly the type of guy you would want for your bf.. and Jocelyn was so sweet with all her insecurities.. I loved how it had a hea, the ending made me really happy!

This book is a definte must read. The characters steals your heart. A very sweet book with very touching moments. Alot of people can relate to this story and those who can't still can't get enough of this. It has been a long time since I have cried while reading a book but I had sad tears and happy tears and I look forward to reading more of Ella's work.

This was another hidden gem. Thanks to my good friend Jenn I read it over the weekend. It was a very sweet book. I loved it! I for sure would say this is for more of an older young adult group or for adults. The content and steamy scenes are a bit much for a younger group.

:( I had a hard time reading this book because I have a similar story but I turned out to be a single parent and I understood the emotions that Joce went through .. I'm all it was a great read and I can't wait to read more from this author ...

This book was really fantastic. the story moved well and the editing was far better than a lot of selfpubs that I have read. it was quick and kept my attention the whole time.
The cover made me giggle a bit, but the story definetly made up for it.

I loved this book. It was amazingly written and perfect in my opinion. I loved Alex and Jocelyn together. Their romance was great and I loved how great they were together. I can't wait to read more books from this author!

I really liked this story. I know it originally started as a fanfic but this was one I was unable to read in fic form. It was a nice, little short fluffy read. A little bit of angst at times but over all a fluffy read.
Jada
Do not let the cover fool you it was wonderful and full of pure real emotion. The author did spend to much time on the backbone and did cheap out on most of the pregnancy plot but it was still a great read
Christel
Besides that I don't really like the cover, I loved the book, books like this make me realize that, boys are only perfect on books obviously! Alex is dreamy!

Welcome! I still can't believe I'm here! I've wanted to be an author from the time I was ten. It's only taken me twenty-seven years to get here, but you know what they say…better late than never!

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I always had a notebook and pen with me and as an adult, the laptop is never far. I've been jotting down short stories for years. The plots and...more
