Cute.

Is there more to say? Probably not.

I'm not sure that this manga is going to have much substance, but it is exactly what it is and I loved it for just embracing that and going with it.

MeruPuri is by the same author as Vampire Knight and while I'm had a couple issues with Vampire Knight where the author seems unable to just give in to the dark theme of her title, this book is all sweetness, magic and humor.

Airi Hoshina wants more than anything to meet a good man, get married and be his li...more

I haven't read manga in a REALLY long time. So it took me a minute to get back into the reading the book backwards. I wasn't sure where I wanted to start, there are sooo many great mangas, new and old, out there. I ended up reading MeruPuri because I had told my daughters (huge manga fans) that I need to find some to read for a challenge I signed up for. Next thing I know there's a pile of books next to my computer. They can be very helpful when they want to be. :)

I have to say I really enjoyed...more

Summary:
This is a romantic comedy manga and it seems very cliche, but there are a few twists. Airi Hoshina is a freshmen in high school and she has a fairytale ending - with a loving husband and all. However, Airi accidentally drops her star mirror and a boy, Aram, appears out of it. He explains to her that he comes from a magically kingdom, but Airi could not believe what she had just seen. She ends up taking care of Aram because he has taken an interest in her and refused to leave with his com...more

Suka dengan gambar cewe and cowon ya yg cantik and cakep. Aram kecilnya manisss.

MeruPuri by Matsuri Hino was a fun distraction while I wait for the 11th installment of Vampire Knight. I really liked this high fantasy and the artwork is just as magical as Hino’s other series. Great story line and fun dialog. Definitely a manga I will continue to read.

Airi Hoshina is a freshman in high school and she already has her heart set on finding the right guy that she will someday marry and build a life with. But suddenly her dreams are disrupted when an event of fairytale proportions...more

2.5 stars. I know I've read this book before. The story is a bit weird--a girl meets two magical half-brothers who visit her from another realm through a mirror given to her by her ancestor. The adult brother has cursed the younger brother, who looks about 7, so that he ages whenever he is in the dark. The only cure is a kiss from his true love, which he decides after one day is the heroine. But though his body ages, his mind and personality don't and he always seems to age in to a teenage boy a...more

Review:

Are you acing for the sweetest, prettiest, cutest, most awwww-whorty fairy tale that just makes you squeal on basically every second page? Then look no further, Merupuri is the only remedy you will ever find to suffice! I can’t hold back on praising this series to the skies, I loved loved loved this.

Although spanning only 4 volumes the length is just perfect in the sense that there is no opportunity to become boring or stretched out with p...more

Ah, Meru Puri… this is such a cute story.

This is a nice four volume manga by Hino Matsuri. The story begins with our heroine Airi, who is meticulously planning her relationship-to-be… which hasn’t come yet, as she has had some pretty bad luck with guys… they just keep rejecting her.

One day, she drops her mirror on the ground and a small boy pops out! His name is Aram and he comes from a world of magic. Unfortunately, he has a curse that was put on him by his brother Jeile that causes him to turn...more

Having had the chance to read a few volumes of Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight I was quite excited when I found out that my library had the first volume of MeruPuri. I'm so glad that I took the chanced to read it because it had now become one of my favorites (now if only I can get my hands on the rest of the series).
I'll just start off by saying that I absolutely loved reading MeruPuri, it might just be one of my new favorite manga reads.

What really made this an enjoyable read was the characters a...more

This maybe deserves 3 stars simply because the art is so beautiful (that mangaka REALLY knows how to draw eyes), but I didn't particularly like the story. A young prince (elementary school age) is somehow zapped into our world and ends up living with a high school girl named Ari, who dreams of getting married and having a family. Aram (the prince), falls in love with her, but is too young for her. However, he's got a curse that sometimes turns him into a young man of about the same age as her, s...more

despite me loathing vampire knight, i enjoyed this book. i was convinced that i would despise anything this author produced since i considered her other series to be that close to garbage. anywho- i have mixed feelings about the age difference between the two who will eventually get together. maybe magic mirror-land people age differently than earth people (or muggles, since thanks to harry potter it is now a real word). don't know. must find more and see how i like it.

Personally, I thought this book really starts the series well. Not only are the drawings breathtaking, but the plot was as well. The ideas the author had were out of this world. I love that Airi's mirror is a portal that allows Aram to come to our world. Furthermore, Aram's rings each having special powers was interesting, especially when his ring bends and grows into a weapon. The little spices of humor was an extra plus to the book.

This series is such a guilty pleasure. Matsuri Hino has a gorgeous style of drawing that leaves you baffled as to how she ever finds time to put that much detail into eyes, clothes and hair for each character. Outside of the visceral, aesthetic pleasures, this series is still enjoyable for its story merits.

While it might rely on some heavy shoujo manga cliches, the mixture of art, character interaction and story development will leave you happily fulfilled. The series is quite short and develop...more

I'd give MeruPuri 4 & a half stars.
This is the first in a 4 Volume manga, and it will grab your attention from start to finish. So, I’m sure that you’re wondering why I gave it 4 & a half stars instead of 5. The only thing I could really find wrong with the manga is the fact that Aram is really just a little kid. I do, however, love the humor and romance that is all throughout this manga. It’s incredibly cute and If you give it a shot, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. :)

I would recommend MeruP...more

I didn't know what to expect when I picked this up. This series by Matsuri Hino is highly entertaining and funny. I completely enjoyed the series and was left wanting more.

Matsuri's other works like Wanted and Vampire Knight are also just as good!

I recommend her work if you like manga or would like to give it a try.

She doesn't disappoint her readers!

Pretty cute, not as oddly disturbing as volume 2. I hate that I read them out of order, especially since I had both, just apparently couldn't tell the difference between a 1 and a 2! :P Volume 2 makes a lot more sense now that I know how it started!

I kept waiting for this story to evolve, but it always stayed at about the same level. I gave it three stars mostly because I liked how the characters were drawn...but the story really got pretty old as the volumes moved along...

It's a shame that Vampire Knight, Matsuri Hino's other popular series, is more promoted than MeruPuri. MeruPuri is a sweet, pretty, and funny tale of romance between a serious prince and an unwilling high school student.
Kris Macnaughton
I got this because I love Vampire Knight. It's AMAZING! I'm so glad I picked it up. It's touching and I love the tiny prince. This story is adorable and fun. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys romance, or coming of age stories. There are only 4 volumes so it's not a big investment in terms of time or money.
