Wrangling a sweet-talkin’ cowboy can be dangerous business...

The West was not so wild for Janie Fitzhugh. Living with her rancher husband, Abe Lawson, in rural Wyoming nearly broke her spirit, so she left. But eight years later, she returns to Muddy Gap to take a job at a new resort. When an unexpected danger arises, Abe seizes the chance to protect Janie and prove he’s a...more

Update 11/11/11...WRANGLED and TANGLED hit the NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLERS LIST!!! CONGRATULATIONS LORELEI!!!!

SHE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!! I HONESTLY do not know how, NYT Best Seller, Lorelei James keeps doing it, but every new book is a masterpiece, blending an incredible story line, sexy alpha cowboys and strong women, plus luvin' so smokin' hot you'll be stocking up on batteries!!!

GOOD GAWD!!! Lorelei James has been teasing me with Renner and Abe for a while now...and once again she has made me...more

Oh yeah! That about sums it up for me. Wrangled and Tangled is one sexy two-fer for the price of one. Two super hot couples (divorced rancher Abe Lawson and his ex-wife Janie Fitzhugh--older, wiser and reuniting for a possible second chance at love; and Split Rock Ranch and Resort owner Renner Jackson and brainiac financial whiz Tierney Pratt who initially get on each other's nerves) make this book positively sizzle. The story mainly revolves around the two couples and the opening of Muddy Gap,...more

Loved it and it kept me up late finishing it! This series is getting as good as her Rough Rider series. Loved all the characters especially Renner and Abe. Loved the two love stories for the price of one and I didn't feel cheated because they weaved together so well. The romance and connections between the two sets of lovers was so raw and real, angry at times, as well as, sugar sweet. Lorelei James's cowboys are my ideals!!, gallant and knightly; possessive and alpha; and oh so charming.

I love

I liked this book, and at times, I really, really liked it, so it gets 3.75 stars from me.

I wait for Lorelei James’ books like an addict awaits her connection. I’ve read every book since pretty early on in the Rough Rider series so I am familiar with the families involved and dive right in. I am hooked on James’ simple sexy style which is always a fun, fast read for me. I adore having the sense of place already established so that no matter who the leads are, I am immediately connected to them....more

After a year full of EXCELLENT books, I had to wait aprox. 304 days to read the one, I could finally call EPIC. Not only for the flawless writing, but for the absolutely gorgeous love story built behind it.

This is a story of two couples (Renner and Tierney, and Jane and Abe), lots of sex and some suspense. I give one star to books I don’t finish. I couldn’t finish this one because I am fed up with the same kind of female characters.

I have read and enjoyed lots of Lorelei James books. But in this novel I snipped, I got fed up with sassy, smart-mouthed, independent, self-reliant female characters. In this book I had a feeling that all female characters in Lorelei James books look the same. But in th...more

Mmmmmmm, Renner....even his spit (chew) didn't turn me off!!

This book about Abe and Janie...was soooo not about them at all! While they were in this book, Renner and Tierney STOLE the show! I loved, loved, loved Renner. His grit and "real cowboy" ways were so hawt and his plain talking, straight shooting attitude spoke directly to me.

Recalling some 20 years ago, before I met my true love, I was the disfunctional dater! I did not...more

Two super hot cowboys and the women they pursue make this an exciting and super scorching read!
Janie Ftizhugh is returning home to work at the new Slit Rock Ranch. This is the place where she failed in her young marriage to rancher Abe Lawson. They divorced and Janie finished school and is now a successful decorator. But the past is something you can't get away from, and the heat between Janie and Abe still burns ho...more

*swoon* another great read by Lorelei James the Queen of Cowboy Romance. She never lets you down.

Description:

New in the Blacktop Cowboy series.

Janie Fitzhugh had one rule—never make drunken promises at bachelorette parties. After all, a drunken promise has gotten her in the mess she is in now with her ex, Abe. Harper Masterson had a big blowout party at the local honky-tonk bar. Janie stupidly promised her ex-husband anything if he would take her drunken butt home safely. He was going to hold her to that promise too. That is how she found herself back at the ranch she swore she would never ever set foot on again.

Abe wants his wife back...more

Third in the Blacktop Cowboys erotic romance series. The primary couple focus is on Renner Jackson and Tierney Pratt and takes place on Renner's ranch-resort, the Split Rock, in Wyoming. There's a secondary couple: Janie and Abe have some catching up to do.

My Take
This was fun! It's a case of mistaken perceptions and taking the old man down a peg. But on the way, it's one confrontation after another between Renner and Tierney. The dangers threatening Janie have Abe on guard and insisting on her...more

This one's a two-fer. Abe and Janie, a couple that had broken up and is slowly making their way back to each other, and Renner and Teirney (I know, the names, the names...), who bicker like children, but are mired in sexual tension.

I'm giving this one four stars instead of three because I liked Renner and Teirney's story so much. They were adorable. I loved how hard Renner fell. (The New Year's scene? Sigh...) The bust-up a the end didn't really fit right with me (the motivations didn't make sen...more

I have been wanting to try Lorelei James for a while. She is an author who lives in my local area, and she writes smokin'hot cowboy erotica. I have a tumultuous relationship with erotica. Sometimes it crosses the line from an erotic story to pornography, so I am pretty reluctant to try it out. However, I have heard great things about her. The back of Wrangled and Tangled has a blurb from Fiction Vixen that says "Smokin' -hot cowboys [and] lots of Western charm." So I had to read it.

I loved that...more

Another AWESOME Western Romance from Lorelei James. It's a two in one. Two stories that interchange for the price of one book. Lorelei did an amazing job again. Loved the interaction with characters from past stories and from stories yet to come. There were scenes that made me laugh and scenes that I wanted to cry and several where, if possible, I'd have liked to have punched the charactor, just to get his/her attention. I'm thinking Ceila from the Blacktop Cowboys series is sort of like Keely,...more

Simply amazing! The perfect balance of emotion, passion, and story to make this a story you don't want to miss.

Janie and Abe have been divorced for many years now. They married young and when the going got tough Janie took off and Abe let her go. Abe has always regretted his decision to do that and now that Janie is back in town he is determined to win her back and he isn't going to let his second chance go without a fight.

Renner Jackson has been forced to partner with Tierney Pratt in order to...more

After reading Lorelei James’ Rough Riders series and now this new Blacktop Cowboys series, you’d think I wouldn’t be surprised anymore at how Ms. James is able to, book after book, turn out characters who worm their way into my heart, make me laugh, make me burn, and just give me a good time from page to page. I keep thinking there’s going to be that first time one of her books isn’t going to work for me for one reason or another - I mean, it happens all the time. Right? Well, it hasn’t happened...more

YUMMY!! Another steamy read by Lorelei James! I did enjoy this book but at times I wasn't sure which characters the story was about as it seemed to definitely ping back and forth between two different sets. When I read the back of the book I got the impression we would be reading about Abe and Janie and we did but Abe and Janie's story didn't feel like the center of attention for this book. It felt like they were fighting against Renner and Tierney for the 'main role' in this one. I did enjoy Re...more

Wrangled and Tangled is the third book in Ms. James' Blacktop Cowboys series and features her own brand of sexy cowboys that fans have come to love and she rewards readers with not one, but two couples which means double the fun! I had expected this book to be Abe Lawson and his ex-wife Janie Fitzhugh’s story, but we get a bonus with the additional love story of Renner Jackson and Tierney Pratt of the Split Rock Ranch.

Janie and Abe fell madly in love when they were both young and not necessarily...more

I'm a super big fan of Lorelei James. When she has a new release, I simply click to buy on my Amazon account. I don't even read the book blurb. There are only a handful of authors that have that sort of status to me. In my opinion, nobody writes cowboy romance like Lorelei James.

Wrangled and Tangled was such a great book but I have to admit, I was annoyed with the two romance stories in one book. That approach didn't bother me in her book Rod...more

As with all the LLJ's book's I've read, LLJ's wrote another Amazing HOT read for me. She can take a simple home town story and just weave magic into it. It grabbed me right from the start and never let go.

In this book you get two love stories rolled into one book. Both stories I enjoyed equally the same. Let me tell you there was some SCORCHING love scenes going on with both couples s...more

Abe and Janie got married very young and though they loved each other they had a serious communication problem. On top of that Abe was stuck in his ways and wanted to keep his ranch exactly how it had been when his parents ran it. Janie kind of felt like it wasn’t really her ranch or her house – that she was just a visitor there. Eventually Janie, instead of talking to Abe, left. They divorced and Janie left Wyoming. Though Abe never stopped loving Janie he went on his way and ultimately decided...more

Very Very Hot! Two Stories In One Smokin Hot Book. First you have Abe Lawson and Janie Fitzhugh who are divorced but still in love. Janie left Abe years before when his priority was not her. Abe had a brother and a sister to raise plus a farm to take care of. A New marriage wasn't in the cards for these two. But they have always regretted their failed marriage. Now they are going to have a smoking hot affair. They will burn the sheets right off the bed. These two have grown up and learned a few...more

I have to say that this is my favorite Lorelei James story by far, and I have read all of her Rough Riders books. I felt that this book had a lot more romance and there was time to really get to know the characters and have things build up instead of jumping right into the steamy sex like she did in some of her previous work. Not that I mind the sex, it's just that I prefer a good romantic story to go along with it and Lorelei James provided not one but two great love stories. There were a coupl...more

I wasn't sure how I would feel about having four POVs in one story but it totally worked. I was completely invested in both couples and wanted them each to succeed. It helped that their stories were different, yet still connected. I especially related to Tierney, in a lot of ways. Renner is just great too and it was wonderful to revisit Harper and Bran. It was interesting to read a former married couple try to move away from their past and try to be together again. All in all a very enjoyable re...more

I would like to say I love these chatacters. Very real and I can imagine that they exist. The storyline fell short in this one it took me a long time to read it.

Renner is a great guy...apart from the fact he's been married twice which makes him damaged in everyone's eyes, he is very charming. I found this flaw to make him appealing and realistic. He's a smoooth talking bullrider owner of a spa/ranch. He meets Tierney spoiled daddy's girl so he thinks. Their first encounter at a wedding had Tiern...more

Favorite Quote: “This is why I was against casual Thursdays. There’s always one person who takes it too far.”

I’m a huge fan of Ms. James’s Rough Riders series so when I was offered this one for review thought, “Ride’em cowgirl!” Wrangled and Tangled is an erotic western romance that centers around two couples; one starting down the path of love and one trying to find their way back.

I really like this book, but on a level I was also very disappointed with it. I was looking forward to Abe and Janie's story, but they were really just a side note to the main story of Renner and Tierney. With Abe and Janie there wasn't really any character development. They pretty much just ended up back together after eight years without much story at all behind it. I did enjoy watching Tierney figure out who she wanted to be in life once she was out from under her father's shadow. Although I...more

Two sexy hot love stories with steamy hot sex? Um, yes please!

Wow, I was totally under a completely different impression of Abe when I read Corralled. Man, was I ever wrong. Holy shit! I can't believe how fuck-hawt Abe is!! His raw animal-lusting sexiness was enough to happily send me over the edge... multiple times. I inwardly RAWRRED throughout this entire book.

Renner was sexy as hell and the total package. Sweet, funny, charming, and the fact that I'd jump on him in a second just added to...more

MOST DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE OF ALL!!!! James hit her stride with this one! Renner and Tierney had the best chemistry out of all of the couples so far. And finally - a woman I connected with. I really understood and enjoyed Tierney. Finally - a girl who gave back just as much as these alpha men give - and then some.

I also loved the late bloomer/virgin story. She wasn't all unsure or timid or scared (besides the typical), but someone who just waited until it felt right. Until she was ready to. Too...more

I liked this a lot more than I expected to. Well, I enjoyed Tierney and Renner's story. Abe and Janie were pretty boring and not very well-defined characters. Actually while I am thinking about it, what's up with the women's names in this town? Janie, Lainie, Tierney? Why do all the women have 5 year-old girl's names?

I didn't realize this was book #3 in a series, but it didn't detract from reading this story at all. It also didn't interest me enough to go back and read the first two books, altho...more
