I enjoyed the fast pace of the book and the characters and how they interacted. There were a few places where the logic was questionable in that I felt the pace was disrupted by unexpected behavior or dialogue on the part of the hero or the heroine, i. e., there was no build up to cause the reader to expect the reaction that one or the other had. It was a bit disconcerting, because Ms. Roberts' main strengths are, in my opinion, the smooth flow of her writing and her imagery. The flow wasn't alw...more

This is the 2nd amnesia story from Nora Roberts I've read in two days. So, I kinda expected to find similarities and not really enjoy it. But alas, there were few similarities. Mainly because the character from the other book (Brie from Affaire Royale) wasn't a pussy and Bailey certainly was.

She hires Cade, a private investigator, to figure out who she is and why she has a 100 carat diamond, 1 million dollars, and a gun. But at every turn - every time she makes a little headway in remembering -...more

Hidden Star is the first book in the Stars of Mithra series. The story begins when a young and beautiful woman walks into PI, Cade Parris's office ready to hire him to find her. Bailey has amnesia, a million dollars in a duffel bag and a diamond the size of her fist. For Cade it's love at first sight but before either of them can do or say anything they need to figure out who Bailey is and what happened to her.

Cade is a great character, he is witty and charismatic. I loved that he was the black...more

This was a really enjoyable book, yeah not logical that our hero Cade took the amnesiac heroine to his house, whose name seems to be Bailey and that it was love at first sight for him, but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow of the book.

Cade is the black sheep of his wealthy family, he tried things their way, even got married but now he's doing things his way, with his PI business when the woman of his dreams walks in when his office is in a disarray, she cries, is carrying a gun, lot of m...more

Cade Parris is the black sheep of his wealthy Washington family. He works as a P.I. mainly for insurance companies and investigating the odd marital discord. When a young, beautiful woman walks into his office and announces that she’d like to hire him, Cade feels like of like he’s been hit with a truck. When he tries to get some details from her, that’s where the problems start.

Firstly, the woman doesn’t remember her name, or anything about herself. She just knows that she’s in an awful amount o...more

Loved this book.
It is the first series of the Mithra Stars collection.

Cade Parris takes one look at the beautiful blonds that walks into his office and falls in love. Unfortunately the stunning woman is there to hire the handsome private investigator to find a missing person, and that is herself.
Bailey James does not even know her name, nor does she know why is carrying a bag filled with more than a million dollars in cash, a pistol and a priceless blue diamond.
Cade and Bailey are undeniably dra...more

I reached for this during a bout with insomnia. I stayed with the girl-walks-into-a-detective-agency story line hoping for a modern 30's and 40's type pulp fiction but no, it's just the same Silhouette melodrama I remember from when I used to read my mom's romance novels when I was a kid. I stuck with it to the end(?). It's the first part of a trilogy but I think I can let the other two books go.

This book was definitely more like a 3.5. I liked how the action started pretty much from day one. I kind of 'OOPS'ed' into this book, but I think it was worth the time. The only thing I disliked was the love at first sight aspect of the book. I really had a hard time believing this entire book unfolded basically over the course of less than a week. Whether or not I will move on to the next books in the series still remains to be seen.

Bailey can't remember a thing and she finds a PI, Cade, to help her. Turns out, she has possession of a huge diamond and over a million dollars in cash. They have to work to solve the mystery as to what happened to her and why she has these items. There's a lot of action, love, and sex throughout the book. Well worth reading.

This is an interesting novel. I liked the suspense of not knowing what was really happening, and how Bailey slowly figures out who she is. The action that went on was pretty kick ass and so was the romance angle of it. I'm on to the next book now, so I can figure out who the hell wants the stars enough to kill.

so this book was a good book, defienly a must read, but at the end of it it seemed like it was a little unrealistic. I love Nora Roberts because most of her story lines could be ture, but this one seemed a little "story like" Not that it could not happen, but the time in which this book took place was only a long weekend, seemed to me to be a little short in time to happen. A murder to be done, then to find you love, fall in love, almost get killed and then find out who the killer is in less tha...more

Already read the 3rd in this series but this holds up even knowing the end. After reading some books by other, less talented authors, lately I have further admiration for Roberts' work. She formulaic but still crafts an entertaining story that doesn't give everything away too soon.

I read this book years and years ago when it was first released but lost it somewhere in the past. When I saw the kindle version just got released, I decided to reread it. The book was not only as good as I remembered, but well worth buying again. Highly recommended for romance lovers.

This was a very quick read and I really liked the fast pace of the book. It was a guilty pleasure for me, typical Nora Roberts, suspenseful and romantic (which I happen to LOVE). I look forward to reading the other two books in this series and seeing where they lead.

This book has more action than the other books she's written. Action as in fighting, blood and gore.

The series seems to be more connected than the others she's written where reading one in the middle won't affect the understanding of the others so much.

It was entertaining, but the crime was solved quite easily. Too easily in fact. The story was not very plausible. I hated the ending and the fact that it is part of a trilogy (didn't know that when I bought book 1 for the kindle). I don't think I will get the other books.

Não me cativou.
Katy
I know, not anything scholarly, but definitely easy entertainment. And to my defense, I had bought the first 2 books of the Stars of Mithra series for our honeymoon and lost them in the move! So it's just now that I finally found them =)

Yet another great book from Nora Roberts. I know really nothing about gemology, so it was interesting reading about it. I hope the next book goes into more detail about that. I also like the "black sheep" lead male character. I'll definitely be reading the next book in this series.
Denise
Meh. Let's just say she's written better books. I didn't particularly care for either of the main characters in this one. The overall storyline has me interested enough to read the rest of the trilogy, though.

For a lil love story Nora Roberts always hits perfectly for me...I dont think that there needed to be three stories, I think they all coulda been in one book, but maybe Im just being picky there :)
Jenn Wraspir
The first of this series and I have to say I wasn't a big fan of the female in this book. I'm a big fan of fiery and fiesty female characters. She was more timid. But I still enjoyed the book
Beth Stevens
Totally irritated that it's a trilogy - but... looking forward to finishing the series. FYI- it did have a couple of steamy-sex parts, so avoid if you'd rather not read those.

This book was a lovely mystery full of puzzels and not too scary. I only wish that the book had been more detailed so that I could become more enthralled by it.

I started this book in the middle of the day and i stayed up til 3am to finish it...this is classic Nora Roberts, conspiracy/thriller its not but there is a decent romance and the crime element is good, all in all an easy and enjoyable read.
Niki
I love Nora Roberts and her easy and quick to read romance novels that always help take you away for just a few hours.
Anna
Great fun fiction. Part of trilogy that can be read together or alone. Another great set from Nora Roberts.
Primadonna
Don't really like the ending. Too abrupt. But then again, it's supposed to be a trilogy...
