Historian and ship expert Mark Wilkins has written a fascinating tale of the ill-fated voyage of the Sparrow-Hawk from England to Plymouth (the objective was Virginia, but events intervened) in 1626. In the second part of the book, Mr. Wilkins discourses in detail, and clearly, on the the ship construction methods of the times. This is of interest to general readers, and will be a treasure trove for those interested in the technical details of wooden ship construction methods of the period.
