Loved it!
The Leviathan Trilogy is set in an alternate Earth scenario where Darwin has discovered the missing DNA link which allows us to meld and minipulate biological beings into useful tools like weapons and airships such as The Leviathan ofcourse there are detractors who would rather rely on machines and it is very believablke as the two theologies and there ‘machines’ are well devided by countries and National doctrines – much like religion did for many hundreds of years, (and in some place...more

“The Leviathan” is a very well written story of a Prince named Aleksander and a girl named Deryn who is posing as a boy to get into the air force. It is set in a steam punk Victorian era all around Europe. A war has broken out between those who use mechanical engineering known as clankers and those who use genetically mutated animals known as beasties. Alek and Deryn eventually meet each other due to the circumstances.
My favorite part of “The leviathan” is when Alek is tricked into a stormwalke...more

In Scott Westerfeld's best work, the Leviathan Trilogy featuring Leviathan, Behemoth, and Goliath,we meet some great characters and go on an exciting adventure through alterna-history's WWI with both an Allied and an Axis perspective. The trilogy has elements of both steampunk and fantasy as well as threading in truths and actual people from history (Westerfeld includes an afterward correcting some of his alterna-history). It was a lively exciting read that I highly recommend to any reader. I gi...more

Per tutti i ragni... che storia!

(Note: I need to buy Goliath to complete my set!)
REALLY enjoyed these. Whole childish, I thought they were amazing mind experiments, what with made-up, clever animals and alternate history. This is a unique trilogy and I hope to find more like it.

ARE YOU SERIOUS, WESTERFELD? What a glorious young adult trilogy. If you love alternative histories with science fiction, and the awesome pacing that goes with it then READ. THIS. TRILOGY.

I have written a review for the trilogy at the below link
