Detective Brian Clifton is called to a murder scene to discover one of the victims looks exactly like his lover, James. So begins a gritty police drama where the dead bodies pile up every few pages and the love interest, James, seems as crooked as they come.

This book has an intriguing premise and L.A. Witt does a solid job with the action part of the story but I had trouble believing Brian would hide his heroine/cocaine dealing, gambling addicted, lying and possibly cheating boyfriend when all e...more

There were a few things that kept this from being a 5 star read. Ironically, the title sums it all up. Trust. I just couldn't believe that Brian was willing to put so much on the line for a lover that he was about to dump an hour before his partner wound up dead. And if I wasn't able to get past that, a lot of the book was spent thinking, "Sure, just throw it all away. Risk your badge And your friend's badge because HOT, Damn is that guy good in bed." And, even Brian says that the great sex shou...more

As much as I liked the first book in this series (Cover Me) Trust Me takes the cake. Oh boy.

I've come to expect good quality writing from L.A. Witt and I was not disappointed this time around either. There is the usual hot sex, tender and hot and hard all mixed together.

Then there's the suspense and action and omg-just-get-the-bad-guy-now! sort of thriller feel to it too. I was on the edge of my seat reading this one, guessing this way and that who was who and what and why. Okay, so I pegged the...more

Trust Me takes place in the same world as Cover Me (I am not sure if Brian makes an appearance in the first book, but if he did, it was too minor for me to notice). Officer Brian Clifton is called to a murder scene at a club in Masontown, one of the worst areas of the city. As he examines a dead body, he is shocked to find the man looks remarkably like his boyfriend James. While he quickly realizes it is not the same man, the fact that he didn't even know James had a brother, combined with James...more

I loved it, though I definitely hope there's at least a third book to give both couples a true HEA. At the end of this one, they were both kinda HFN. Also, I felt rather silly to not have guessed the truth about why James was being so evasive; seems like I should have seen that coming, having read a romance or billion in my life. So either I was just extra-tired when reading it and not paying sufficient attention, or Witt pulled me in so thoroughly to her world that I forgot anything outside it.

The major premise, a police detective, Brian Clifton would go to such lengths to protect his maybe boyfriend, James, that he didn't seem that attached to & was just about to dump, was so unbelievable it dragged down the rest of the story. It also doesn't help that Brian & James relationship consisted of sex & sex & then all of a sudden they love each other--I couldn't say where that came from.

I didn't hate the story. It had some suspense, even though it was pretty clear who did i...more

I loved this story. It had so much going on and kept you on your toes. I am really good at figuring stuff out way before things happen and WOW this one got me. I had NO clue. I loved Brian and felt for his emotions and what to do it was raw it was real. I loved him and James and that as much as it tore him apart he still wanted to help him. The end blew me away I loved It and was sad when it ended. I am addicted to L.A. Witt’s writing.

3.5 stars.
I had issues with believability with this story but it was still an enjoyable read. Their relationship was based on too many lies and too much trust even though it was claimed there wasn't any. As I said though, still enjoyable, and well written. I liked the suspense part of this story and the peeks at Andrew and Nick.

Great m/m story with great drama, suspense, and tension. A plot including a mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end with some very surprising revelations.

This book was impossible to put down until the turn of the last page.

This was a very good, suspenseful book. I had a couple of things figured out early on, but it was interesting seeing how it all played out. I'm looking forward to more from this author.

I'm really enjoying L.A. Witt. Trust Me is a good romantic suspense!

Very good m/m romantic suspense about a cop who's ready to break up with his boyfriend because he suspects his boyfriend has been cheating on him, but what's really been going on is a helluva lot more complicated. You also get to see how things are going with the guys from Cover Me.

One of my favorite things about L.A. Witt's m/m books is that there is aways a thoroghly engaging story acompanying the steamy sex scenes. She develops characters, sometimes pretty flawed characters, with real personalities and emotion. With the way Brian's tale was ended, i hope we're going to see another book with him and his beau. He has a couple demons to exorcize and i'd love to read about their journey.

I enjoyed the last quarter more than the first three quarters, but it still took me about four days to read.

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who, after three years in Okinawa, Japan, has recently relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two cats, and a three-headed clairvoyant parakeet named Fred. There is some speculation that this move was not actually because of her husband's military orders, but to help L. A. close in on her arch nemesis, erotica author Lauren Gallagher, who has al...more
