so i need to get goodreads librarian status. the book was published in 1961, not 2000. and the prince is fredrick; the dragon is darius. people's reviews are off, but this book is amazing. mi esposo has his childhood copy and now our kids can't get enough of it, though i still choke up when the king clears his throat that 4th time.

My grandmother gave me a box of old books a few years ago and this was in it. It's a cute children's book that I hadn't read before. Although the story is cute, I really love the illustrations of Darius, the dragon.

I always enjoyed reading this story at bedtime with my sons. I would make little "pfft pfft pfft" sounds as the dragon did his little fire spits. One of my very favorites ever.

This book was a favorite of my three kids and now it is in the traveling collection for my grand kids. The illustrations are happy. It is always fun to read.

I can't believe this is on here! It's about a Dragon, called Frederick. Who likes to spit fire. It's great.
