A sequel to the graphic novel “Pulse of Power,” “The Pendulum” continues the story of Tia Stanton, who was birthed from a magical rite. In “The Pendulum” she is dealing with the after effects of her previous adventure, which includes an overabundance of magic. When she tries to return that magic to its owners, things go awry and she ends up with none. What will happen to her? How will she be able to help her friends if she herself is helpless?

While I have not read the first story in this series,...more

One thing I understand now. I should've read "Pulse of Power" before reading "The Pendulum". It's not mandatory, but I'm sure it would've made this a little more enjoyable.

The art was good almost all the time, except during the action scenes (which weren't many). At those times the gorgeous drawings just didn't live up to the expectations, while being too static.

In terms of story, besides feeling a bit lost (we're told things...more

Thank you to Sea Lion Books for supplying this copy for review.

This series is awesome. I love the graphics and the story was action packed and full of drama.

Tia is full of borrowed magical powers and when she decides to give them back everything goes wrong. Tia gets kidnapped in order for a race to be rescued by her powers against a Dictator. But they learn quickly that her powers are gone.

They help Tia go on a quest to recover them and she discovers a whole lot about herself along the way. W...more

Beautiful, bold, and brave Tia Stanton returns in the sequel to Anne Elizabeth’s Pulse of Power, The Pendulum. Tia’s keeping on the move, monster-hunting and haunting the magical club Vivant. The extra magic, given to her by Witt, Augustine, and Yorinnce, is still a big part of her and still coveted by evil forces. This time, though, Tia will have to face evil on an alien planet called Zep’Braxion. Once again, destiny is called into question and Tia will have to turn a blind eye or choose the pa...more

one thing i will say about this graphic novel is that i liked the pictures, the words not so much, reminded me of the comic books like superman, spiderman etc with the words like "crack" and "thrak" and "bam" and "kaboom"
i probably would have understood it more if i had known there was a book before this one. all in all this is the first AND last graphic novel i will ever read. il stick to full length books in the future WITHOUT pictures

I enjoyed the story. This is the sequel to Pulse of Power and I recommend reading them in order.

The author has created a magic chaotic world and the artwork compliments the story. I would consider the artwork a bit retro with the way the word bubbles flow, but it works for Tia and her story.

Full review will be up at Bittenbybooks.com later next month!
