I think this lady creates wonderful characters in her mysteries and that is probably the largest factor that causes me to look for more books by a specific author. This book is the first in a series called the "McLaren series". They are detective type mysteries and have a little of an English touch. They are easy to read and hard to put down. I have liked them all and am anxiously waiting for the next one to come out.

Even though Jo lives in the US, was born in the US, you'd think she was a younger Agatha Christy. She has all the parts of speech and things particular to England down pat.

Very sturdy book on a year old murder case investigated by a retired CID inspector. A few tense relationships and plenty of red herrings keep one's attention throughout.
