While this is an older book (published in 1998) and no doubt needs updating, it's still an excellent reference for genealogists and anyone aiding others in building their family tree. It covers everything from the common sources such as census and vital records to local histories and periodicals. I love that it not only gives information on what sources are available but also the background to those sources.
