There are two things you should know:

1) I don't drink. At all.
2) I harbor a strong anti-cupcake bias.

And I still thought Intoxicated Cupcakes was fabulous.

Too often themed cookbooks like this are simply prettily-packaged duds, so I approached it with a fair amount of skepticism - especially given the author's less-than-knockout culinary background and the recent overboard attempts of publishers to cash in on the cupcake trend. Now that I only bake gluten free, this book is helpful for combinations of ingredients to add and ways to add booze to the frostings and gooey middles. It's got lots of little helpful tips and gorgeous photos that really inspire you to get baking!
Fun ideas for boozy cupcakes - great for a party! I liked the chocolate/baileys cupcakes with whiskey ganache - YUM! And the banana/rum cupcake recipe is a fun take on bananas foster. A few clunker recipes though (the rum and coke cupcakes and the bloody mary tomato cupcakes stuck out as ones to skip.)
