Schillings book was full of good information and I learned a lot more about organizations dedicated to the environment and my daughter's native culture (my daughter and her father are members of the Batchewana band of Ojibwe in Sault Saint Marie, Canada). As I was reading I thought the writing was very simplistic, but then realized it must be written so that students of many levels can read it. It is also very dry. Excellent for upper level grade levels! Tells the stories of American Indian leaders and activists. Enjoyable book to read and you also learn a lot! 2012 American Indian Youth Literature awards honor book for young adults.
