Sometimes, a sequel doesn’t always live up to the dearly loved predecessor in the series. This is most definitely NOT the case with Immortal Beloved. This book was amazing! It was everything a sequel should be and more. As Mina Singer nurses a broken heart, she must pull herself together and embark on a perilous adventure to Egypt, where she will try and save her knight in shining armor, Blake Beldevier, from a horrifying, real-life nightmare.

The characters are all honorable in their own right and so easily lovable, allowing for readers to connect even more so with the story. Delta, Mina’s best friend, is probably one of my favorite characters ever. She’s quirky and sarcastic and strong but fiercely protective and loyal to those that she loves. The only negative (and it’s not necessarily negative actually… perhaps more so a personal preference maybe…) thing that I can say in regards to this book was that it seemed like it took forever and a day for Blake’s physical reinsertion back into the story (But, I also understand the need for Blake’s absence). I adored, couldn’t get enough of, and swooned frequently over his character and if you’ve read The Forests of Adventures, you know what I mean. #TeamBlake

The plot build up and explanations of Egyptian rituals and myths were conveyed in a matter that I found very interesting and quite easy to understand. The storyline is a uniqueness all its own and is overflowing with great twists, turns (some lovely, some scary) and legends that will keep you hanging from each page. I have completely fallen in love with this emotionally charged, enchantingly descriptive world that the author has so brilliantly created. The story is brimming with beautiful analogies and lyrical prose. I found all the ‘British-isms’ in her writing to be so charming and felt it adds something special to Katie’s already magnificent way with words. As with the first book, this book ended with a gripping cliff hanger that will leave you reeling for more. Can’t wait for the third and final book in the series. Highly recommend.(less)

I enjoyed the first book but this one was definitely my favourite, there was even more action and adventure in this one and I felt I could keep up with what was happening more easily in this story. The only thing that I didn’t prefer was the cover, although after reading the story I can see why it is relevant but I just personally preferred the first.

Life wasn't meant to be easy but surely Mina deserved a break, first off she fell madly in love with Blake a real life knight and was introduced to a world only known in fairy tales and stories of King Arthur. Then the evil witch Morgan turned up and it all went to hell literally. Now Mina must embark on a journey to save Blake from his fate with her most trusted friends and even if they somehow succeed in getting to him in time, it will only be a Pyrrhic victory. My heart broke when she received the news that Blake is dead. I wanted to whisper ‘ he isn’t dead’.

Then the fun starts, Mina, Sam and Delta go to Egypt to save Blake. Mina starts to realise the power that The Realm holds. This is where Blake comes into the book. He has little passages where we can see his feelings, whats happening to him. I really likes that because we the readers knew more of what was happening to them but had to keep reading to see what was about to happen! Does that make sense? I doubt it. It also shows a lot of what Vivien meant without giving away anything at all!

I like how descriptive the chapters are. They really do set the scene and allow me to feel what they are all feeling. Many different descriptive words are used, no repeated words which makes it very strong. It is a very strong book! Throughout the book little hieroglyphics pop up this is sooo cool!!

I love Delta and Sam together!!! Delta is beyond hilarious! You can tell she loves him really. I can relate a lot to her. Her character is mysterious but open. I would love to know more about her and her past. I couldn’t imagine Daisy in Delta’s position at all. Wouldn’t even want to imagine!

One thing I liked about this book was how Mina has remained Mina and not ‘ Realm-ish’ at all. Some books I have read turn that main character and adapt them to the circumstance they are in and I don’t like it. I love Mina’s innocence and determination. It’s cute.

One of my happy moments of this book was when Mina and Blake consummate – beautiful and when they return to the training yard, I was in stitches. Absolutely hilarious!

The ending was amazing, confusing. I have so many thoughts; is she or isn’t she? What’s really going on? If Vivien knew, why didn’t she tell Mina? I was panicking! The whole series so far has been so real to me. This one in particular – I had to remind myself its not real! Okay, so...
If you by any chance didn't read The Forest Of Adventures, I recommend you to do it ASAP.

If TFOA was great, Immortal Beloved was fan-freaking-tastic!

Even the cliffhanger is so good, you just need more.
I loved the characters, their decisions and journeys.
I loved Katie's writing, some quotes that made me teary eyed.
I laughed, cried, giggled, aww-ed and screamed in frustration in this book. Not to mention my heart stopping once or twice.

Finally i got to read the sequel to the "forest of adventures' after waiting, what feels like, a lifetime!
I really enjoyed this book!
Again it reminded me of Twilight in some ways of description etc but that didn't put me off because the plot is different and so is the story, only same similarities.
It didn't take me long to read and from start to finish i read eagerly over every page, taking in their world with every word.
Such a fun book and interesting to say the least!

But later Mina finds out that there is a way to save Blake. Sam, Mina and Delta has to go to Egypt on a quest to save him. But when they get their they find out only Mina can save Blake. Mina is one brave, strong girl to go through what she has to to save her one true love. The love Mina feels for Blake is very strong to do what she does to save him. Can you image loving someone that much? I know we all believe that we love our spouses or partners that much. I am one of those people who believes that I would do anything for my husband. But how can we ever know what we would do unless we have walked in someone else's shoes. And there is no way to walk in someone else's shoes because even though our stories may be similar they can never be the same. So therefore we can never know what someone else is going through or how they feel.

I love the way Sam goes on with his life after Mina ends their relationship. Sam and Delta have their own relationship. They love each other in their own way and really enjoy being together. Sam is such a nice guy in that he never holds it against Blake for taking the love of his life from him. Blake and Sam somehow put aside their differences and become friends. They probably do this for Mina because they both care so much for her.

I would like to have known more about Delta and her life. Who was she really? Who were her parents? Where did she live? What kind of life did she have? What made her the person that she is?

I loved how Mina loved Blake so much that she would and did put her life in danger to save him. But at the same time she still cared and loved Sam but in a different way. Mina was always thinking and putting someone else's feelings before her own.(less)

Oh My Goodness this book is awesome. This book has it all; it’s a young adult romance with fantasy included, oh so good!

Number two in the trilogy and it is perfectly awesome. Follows on from number one and leaves it open for number three. Mina is still coming to terms with losing her best friend and her boyfriend. The way Mina is handling Blake’s departure is just heartbreaking. I think we’ve all been there to some extent and can empathise with the pain she is going through. Since Blake left, Mina’s Uncle Josef has been the shoulder she can cry on, the one who will wade through the misery right along side her because he too knows what it feels like to be heartbroken. Delta on the other hand is like a rock to Mina and will hold her up and keep her afloat and make her do those normal mundane things when all she wants to do is drown in her misery and with the help of both Delta and Josef and also the added help of Daisy (I was glad to see her and Mina trying to work things out), they attempt to get Mina back to a little normalcy. Mina is just going through the motions though. Little do they no the inner turmoil she suffers.

Just when she’s given up, The Realm comes back in to her life and she is informed that Blake is in danger and only she can save him. Mina, along with her friends, Delta and Sam, must go on a perilous journey to Egypt to save Blake and bring him home. A journey that will change them all forever.

It’s nice to be back in this magical story. Ohhh I love the whole Ancient Egypt-ness! That and Greek mythology were one of my favourite things to learn about in school! On reading Immortal Beloved, I got all excited at the mythology of Ancient Egypt coming to life and actually seen as being true in the world of The Knight Trilogy. I’ve always found it so interesting and magical – captivating – and Katie’s telling of it didn’t disappoint. I got so lost in the story and felt like I was right there with Blake. Speaking of Blake, I love that the book is written in first person from Mina’s POV and in third person from Blake’s. I love reading a story from both sides of the coin.

I would love to have seen what went on in that car with Delta and Sam. Lol! Saying that, it didn’t really need much explaining. Ha ha ha. Delta and Sam have a love/hate relationship (or maybe hate/hate is more apt) at the beginning but it really develops through out the story. Although you could kind of see it coming. Katie takes you on twists and turns that find you mistrusting those you thought you could trust and trusting those you probably shouldn’t. I still have my suspicions about one particular character and I think Mina’s trust in him is the reason behind what happened to her.

There is an interesting twist that is appearing between Delta and Mina. You get a glimpse of this near the beginning of the story. Delta is definitely one of my favourite characters. She’s not the toughnut she makes herself out to be. Love her. As someone who hasn’t flown before, remind me not to get on a plane with Delta! She’s so mean lol! Delta has me in stitches! She’s so mean to Sam ha ha ha! I love the witty banter that goes on between them 2.

The character, Florin makes a very brief appearance in Immortal Beloved but although brief, he makes quite an impact on the reader. I’m thinking he will most definitely be making a re-appearance in the next book. There’s just something….suspect about him – more than meets the eye with that one. He’s definitely not just some hot French teaching assistant I’m sure of it. Ms. Minerva the librarian has cropped up in the story a couple times. I’m wondering if she’ll feature more in the next book. It was her surname that got me wondering. Hmmm…

And :-O at the ending. I can’t believe it ended there! A perfect way to end book 2 though. What a cliffhanger! I absolutely loved this book. An amazing and captivating read that drew me in from the very beginning. I wasn’t sure if combining both The Realm and Ancient Egypt mythology would work but somehow it does although I do miss the focus being on The Realm. I’m hoping there’ll be more focus on it in book 3. Can not wait to find out what happens!(less)

Mina is the hero of the story...one which begins with great sadness. It is almost to difficult to read how the events of the first story have affected Mina's life. But, when the need arises, Mina rises to the occasion. Her strength and the love and support of her friends (I love Sam & Delta) helps her to do seemingly impossible things to save the one she loves. This story is a wonderful mix of mystery, romance and fantasy...and the cliffhanger at the end leaves you anxious to read more!!
