I was completely captivated by this short story in which Jon and Nate laughingly recount their first date to their 12 yr old daughter Lizzie. Great to read about a married gay couple with a kid. Thankfully Lizzie is a normal funny teen and not one of those saccharine sweet kids that make your teeth ache. They first met at a drunken party but neither could remember except for the next day when several cryptic reminder messages appear on Jon's phone telling him to ask Nate out. The dialogue is sna...more

Nice story about two very different men meeting and not remembering it. The fun that follows as they try to recall what happened is hilarious. Since it is told in past tense, there is no real tension as to how they end up, but their back and forth is quite entertaining.

If you like stories with humor and a family angle, you will probably like this one.

I hope this is not the only time we get to meet Jon and Nate. They have a story to tell and it is not done yet!

We learn how they met but we don't learn how their relationship really started. And the writing was confusing.

Ah, our last date with a DSP Daily Dose story, for now. This is a nice finish to the series, although it left me curious about the couple, and wondering if there would be more to their story. Jon and Nate are asked by their 12-year-old daughter how they met, and thus the story begins, and not a very auspicious beginning either. Jon and Nate were both actors, and awoke with terrible hangovers and numerous notes and texts to themselves about some guy they met at a party. Jon calls him up, and invi...more
This story surprised me a little bit...and honestly, it was in a good way.

I was unprepared for the humor that infused the story. The daughter was cute as hell, and funny enough to hold her own with two humorous dads. There are some pretty good banter moments, and jokes galore.

But this short is not just fluff; there is some meat to the story. The premise is a flashback to the first (or "last", which needs to be understood in context of the story, so I'll refrain from explaining and spoiling) date...more

Our Last Date is a sweet, funny, and cute family story about two men telling the story of their first date to their twelve-year old daughter.

My problem with this was, that I would've wanted the WHOLE story. It's even stated what happens after the first date, but never getting the details annoyed me. I found the bickering couple such a fun thing, and then when I didn't get the whole story I was bummed.

Of course I know this was a short story and as a writer I know how much it limits what you have...more
I thought that this was a sweet read...I really loved all the witty dads-daughter banter back and forth between Lizzie and her dads.
