Soul Possession by Maya Banks
Maya Banks starts this anthology off with a bang, throwing you right into the burning fires of passion. Two detectives and best friends, Rick and Truitt, frequent a bar where the meet pretty waitress Jessie Callahan. Both men want her, so instead of fighting over her and potentially ruining their friendship they decide to go after her together. Finally convincing her to join them in a ménage a trios Rick and Truitt bring Jessie home for a night to remember, only afte

Soul Possession by Maya Banks - This story seriously disappointed me. I didn't like the threesome aspect of the story. Truitt and Rick have been frequenting a bar where Jessie is a waitress for a few weeks. After a couple of weeks of seeing her at work and minimal conversation, they both want her and after one night with her, they both develop feelings for Jessie. I know that this is a novella and that the plot has to progress quickly, but I did not find it believable. And then to throw into the ...more

I really wish I could give this antho a better rating, but I just can't. All three stories were predictable, and two were very similar. Out of the three, Sylvia Day's was the best, IMO. I've never read Ms. Day's work before, though I've wanted to, and I will definitely try another of her books. I'm sure this antho will sell well, but as a fan of Maya Banks, particularly, I was disappointed. Just my opinion - others will probably love the stories.

Great hot summer evening read! Not always a fan of short stories, but sometimes they are fun when it's a busy time and I don't want to wade through a lot of back story. I didn't really have a favorite...they were all good. Break them out when your attention span is short;)

Men Out of Uniform has three stories by Maya Banks, Sylvia Day and Karin Tabke. This is a must read book. It was very good. I love Maya Banks & Sylvia Day books. This is the first one of Karin Tabke I had ever read and was impressed. If you like hot guys in uniform you will love this book. It's full of sex and suspense.

Not bad, me esperaba más.
The first novella, taking up nearly half the book, was sweet. I enjoyed the heroes' no bull approach to seducing the heroine, and the tension created by the plot twist was compelling. Both heroes were refreshingly honest and forthright, except for their one big misstep, which frankly, I'm not sure how they could have gone the other way.

The second novella started out with a gratuitous and mildly graphic sex scene involving the "hero." It lays the foundation for an unlikeable man with bad intentio

Soul Possession - Maya Banks (3 stars)
Ok m/f/m story, two detectives and the waitress who becomes their lover, then a prime suspect in a serial killer case. The grisly crime aspect overpowered the story a bit, and when the name of the serial killer is in the acknowledgements, it kinda halts any suspense. Sex came across a bit clinical.

Wanted - Karin Tabke (3 stars)
This was quite a good story about a mob wife about to testify and the cop protecting her (who also happened to be her first

Three short romance stories by three very thorough romance authors. All three stories will leave you clutching your book and wanting more. Banks writes a gripping story about two detectives who fall in love with and bed the same woman (together) only to have her torn from their grasp. The story also features a serial killer that's hunting woman and our two lovely detectives are working to find the nut before another woman dies. Tabke and Day's stories are both about woman who are state's evidenc ...more

As a whole this book was great. The best story by far was Banks. It was well written and felt like a complete story. I loved the story and how Rick and Truitt won the heart and body of Jessie. I have to admit that I don't care for Karin Tabke's writing. I've tried more then once to read books by her but can't get into them. Day's story was enjoyable too. I liked the characters and how there story panned out.

Review coming but preview.

Maya Banks - I actually liked this story. It seemed to me the best intertwined with the romance and the suspense.
Karin Tabke - Nice story but there was this big build up for this confrontation and when it happened it was like 'is that it'
Sylvia Day - Nice story but where is the suspense. Wasn't any.

STEAMY....beware. Maya Banks begins- It seemed very textbook erotic, not like her other reads; give the novella 2*.
Karin Tabke’s Wanted-silly. But still hot. 3*
Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day-Wicked and fun. Then Let me say it’s the first Sylvia Day I actually liked. You have to love happy endings.

The stories are short, but full of story and sex. I really enjoyed Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day and could believe the connection between the characters. Soul Possession by Maya Banks was good, but I didn't like how Rick and Truitt would so easily believe Jessie would use them. In Wanted by Karin Tabke, I couldn't connect with the characters. Whether you think you remember someone from the past or not, I didn't believe you would allow them to get that close so quickly. Worth reading for the erot ...more
Soul Possession by Maya Banks ------------ 4 stars ----- Read 9/5/2015
This novella was a 4-star read overall. I debated on giving it 3 stars because the shorter format made it less enjoyable for me than Maya Banks's longer works. However, it was quite well-written and contained scorching menage sex and quite a bit of suspense, in spite of its shorter length. The heroes are partnered police detectives working a serial killer case who both fall for the sweet, hardworking heroine. She's vulnerable,

Favorite Quote: Hell, she had no idea what she was going to do with all this cock but she was sure as hell going to have a good time figuring it out.

Rick and Truitt have been partners in the police force for a long time. They are currently deeply involved in a serial killer case. Someone has been kidnapping women, only to let them go and then hunt them in the woods. Needing to let some stress out, they have decided tonight is the night they are going to take home the

HOT. Perhaps the single best anthology I've read.

Soul Possession by Maya Banks

This story is another Banks ménage about friends and detectives Truitt and Rick who are both interested in the same waitress, Jessie. They decide that since they both want her, they'll share her. They finally convince her to go home with them and the next day she's accused of murder. They guys struggle with whether or not they believe she's innocent while chasing down a serial killer. Before reading this book, I had only read one other book by Karin Tabke, which I thought was decent. Sylvia Day and Maya Banks are two of my, maybe not FAVORITE, but definitely more reliable authors. Their books are usually intriguing and sexy with deliciously tough heroes.

This book totally fell flat for me, though. I already knew going in that I wouldn't be thrilled simply because it's an anthology of "novellas" which are shorter than a normal book... therefore the stories are usually lacking i

This is a hard book to rate. As a whole, it was just okay. There were some interesting /fun parts, but it was a little too predictable.

Maya Banks's Soul Possession was written well, as most of her work is. However, the relationship between the three main characters was kinda campy. I'm not sure "campy" is the best word to describe it, but it's the only thing that comes to mind. The romance was so sweet...too sweet in my opinion. The menage a' trois between Jessie, Rick, and Truitt was so very po

In Maya Banks’s Soul Possession, we have Rick and Truitt two police detectives who have been working to find a serial killer. They stop into a bar quite often after work and have been trying to get Jessie (a waitress who works there) to go home with them. Jesse has had a rough life. She was in a car accident 2 years before that did alot of damage to her leg and shattered her knee. After a bad night of being accused of stealing money from the bar and being fired she caves in and goes home with th ...more

A waitress is propositioned by two hot cops to spend the night with them. After their hot night together, they are in love and want something more serious (all three of them?!), but a serial killer targets her before "their love has had time to blossom"...
I don't like m/f/m combos, for sex scenes it's ok (i can deal with it), but not when they make it seem like a permanent functional threesome relationship is possible...

An anthology of three short stories about mildly erotic romance with cops.

The Stories
Maya Banks' Soul Possession is a warm, sweet threesome. Truitt and Rick, detectives and partners are both attracted to Jessie. Neither is willing to give way to the other so they've been teasing and flirting with Jessie for some time about her coming home with both of them. Then Jessie is implicated in a murder and the guys quickly freeze up on her.

This anthology really didn't do it for me. =(

Soul Possession – Maya Banks
Jessie spends a hot night with two sexy-as-sin detectives, only to be accused of murder the very next day. But when Jessie becomes the target of a serial killer, her two detectives will risk everything to have her back in their arms—and in their bed.

My Thoughts: I felt like this story was just rather rushed and scripted. In a way it read really like porn. The sex scenes were extremely graphic and the rest was just skimmed o
I'm not usually a big erotica fan, nor am I a huge fan of contemporary novels, and I think my lack of interest in both has ultimately affected the grading of these three pieces. I like to encourage people to take reviews lightly and to form their own opinions about books, and I really want to reinforce this now.

Despite my lack of interest in both categories, I have tried to be objective while reading this collection of novellas--especially since there are both contemporaries and eroticas that I

M/F/M story

I am a big fan of Maya Banks so I was excited to dive into this anthology. I have to be honest and say, out of the 3 stories, Soul Possession was my least favourite.

Poor Jessie had a rough night. Fired from her waitress job after being accused of stealing, her bum knee acts up, she is whisked away from the bar by two gorgeous cops for a threesome and the next day is brought into t
