I was excited to get this book in the mail. I love Rachael - she has always been so kind and generous towards me - thus her book got bumped right to the top of my review pile :)

Minor Adjustments was a fun, quirky, entertaining book. I knew from the start how this book would end up but was pleasantly surprised by some of the twists and turns the story took to get there. They kept me engaged and interested throughout the book. The silly facts that Stella was constantly sharing and the Australian...more

Loved it! I really enjoyed this book! Since I don’t have as much time to read as I used to, I have to be a little more picky about the books that I read. Minor Adjustments was definitely worth the time. It was a fun story and great escape. I loved our characters Stella, Devon and little Ryan. The quickly work their way into your heart and you have to keep reading to see how things are going to end up. There are a few twists along the way and I was hoping everything would work out. I loved Stella...more

At its heart this well-paced book is a very sweet, very simple love story. But unlike most romance novels, this story revolves around the mutual love of three main characters, Devon, Ryan and Stella, as they develop a relationship that spans the world. Indeed the overarching theme of the book is about love in all its many guises, the tragic friendship of Stella and Lindsay, the long-distance romance between Devon and Stella (Will they? Won’t they?), the love of a family accepting a lost member b...more

REVIEWED by Karen for Between the Covers blog:

Minor Adjustments is a sweet, wholesome story about family, values and character. Devon Pierce owns his own company and is a self-proclaimed workaholic. One day he is asked to come to Australia by a solicitor to deal with the request from a young woman, Lindsay, who lived with his family for nine months as a foreign exchange student ten years earlier. Upon learning that she was dying of cancer, Lindsay decided that her four-year-old son, Ryan Devon,...more

Minor Adjustments is a sweet, wholesome story about family, values and character. Devon Pierce owns his own company, is a self-proclaimed workaholic, and is called to Australia by a solicitor to deal with a request from a young woman, Lindsay Caldwell, who lived for a short nine months as a foreign exchange student with his family. During that short time, Devon and his family made such an impact on her that Lindsay believes that her child, four-year-old Ryan Devon Caldwell, should live with Devo...more

Darling, darling story about learning to trust yourself and do the right thing. Devon is delicious. Stella is superb, but Ryan stole the show. What an adorable 4 yr old who although reeling from the death of his mother, somehow manages to win over the heart of everyone he meets. I loved watching the relationships grow slowly over the course of the story. Knowing where it would lead was insignificant. The journey there was lovely. Stella's crazy facts for the day were fun and made me grow to love...more

Devon's life is his Internet security business based in Chicago, which he started from scratch into a successful company. Stella is a solicitor (attorney) in Australia who is handling the future of her best friend's little boy after she passed away from cancer. For some reason her best friend left guardianship to Devon based on when she lived with his family for several months ten years ago. Devon agrees to come to Australia and take care of the little boy, Ryan, for two weeks, but is determined...more

I've been wanting to read this book since it came out! The cover and the description just grabbed me. It might be because I love the movie "Baby Boom", and it seemed like the basis was about the same.

Having said that, the premise of both stories - a very focused businessperson being given a child from someone that they didn't know very well, was about the only similarity between them. I love that this story was set in Australia, a place that I really want to visit!

I loved the characters! Cute Ry...more

I have been interested in reading a Rachael Renee Anderson book for quite awhile. I have visited her blog several times and many of my blogging friends love her books.

I picked this book up at the Cedar Fort outlet store, wanting to give her books a try. I'm very glad that I purchased this book. It's definitely a keeper and will sit proudly on my shelf and one that I will recommend to my friends. I may even let them borrow it. :) (If they are really nice and trustworthy.) I will definitely be rea...more

If you've never picked up a book by Rachael Renee Anderson now it the time to go out and get one. She is one of those authors that can REALLY write chick lit clean romance. In her latest, Minor Adjustments, she once again weaves in characters with values and personalities that will leave you feeling inspired to be a better person. Set in Australia, land of Tim Tam cookies, lollies and kangaroos MA follows the dilemma of Devon Pierce, who is named rightful guardian to a child he's not met and a g...more

I must make a disclaimer that I can't review one of Rachael's books without severe bias. The woman is one of my favorite authors in-person, and I love her wholehearted, clean approach to romance. Rachael is a true romantic, and Minor Adjustments is yet another showcase of her wry humor and fully formed characters. I read this book in one night. When you need a lighthearted and sweet tale of two people finding love in the most unlikely of circumstances, this is a great fit!

I thought Minor Adjustments was cute. I thought Stella was a nice and quirky character. This book reminds me of another book, No Longer Strangers by Rachel Ann Nunes. I liked that book much better because the male character struggled a lot more to parent a child that wasn't his own and it was funny to see him try. I kept comparing Minor Adjustments to that book and found that I liked No Longer Strangers better.

This was a fun and predictable story of a 4-yr-old Australian boy who is willed to an American man he has never met. It's also a (did I mention predictable?) love story. That being said, I read it in two days. I laughed out loud in places because the banter between characters was enjoyable. I fell in love with Ryan (the 4-yr-old, not the caretaker :). I enjoyed reading something light, quick, and enjoyable.

LOVED it! Fun read with lots of spunk and an unexpected twist. Anderson definitely knows how to write romance!!! Highly recommend it for an entertaining and thoughtful read. You'll ask yourself some hard questions while you read and wonder what you'd do in the same situation. I know I did. You'll remember this book long after you've read it.

Minor Adjustments was a wonderful and heart-warming tale that I enjoyed very much. The characters were really great. Stella was a kind person, whose random facts were always interesting. Devon was a really good, stand-up guy and Ryan was such a little cutie. I would highly recommend this awesome book!

This book was a quick, fun easy read. I only gave it three stars because...hmm...well, it just wasn't super exciting and the biggest "obstacle" wasn't valid in my mind. A little cryptic, but I don't want to give anything away :). I'll probably try another book by this author.
Cherri
Fun read about single man whose friendship with exchange student years ago leads to him being selected to raise her son when she realizes she has cancer. Set in Australia, and with a romance thrown in for good measure, you can't go to far wrong with this one.
Kaylynn Johnsen
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are well fleshed out and the story line moved forward beautifully. It was particularly interesting to have a male protagonist. I found seeing things from his view point particularly informative.

One night I just needed an escape and this was a great fluff book to get lost into. Probably on another night I would not have rated it as high. I liked the characters and loved the setting in Australia- a nice change to reading books set in the US.

Great summer read--loved the location and details of it, made me want to go there! Great connection between the characters and plausible plotline. She has a talent for romance writing, as with Luck of the Draw. You'll enjoy it!

This was one of those books that I read in one day. You know the kind, makes you laugh, makes you cry, pulls at the heartstrings. This book is one of my favorite romances out there.

Thank you again Rachael for this book!
I really loved the characters in this story and could relate to both Devon and Stella. I know how it would end, but it was a book that made you feel good after reading it. It makes you think would you ever do what Devon did if you were in that situation?
I don't think I will be trying Vegemite...
Laura
I liked this book, but not as much as Anderson's first two! Still 3 1/2 stars. I loved the romance in it, but bribery is a bit dodgy don't you think?!?

I received this book from goodreads.com for free. This was a nice love story. Love for a child, love for a parent figure, love for a mother and love between 2 people. The characters were well thought out, conversations flowed well and it was an easy read. I will definitely share this with my friends.

3.5 stars. Cute, fast, semi-predictable story. It was a great way to spend a few hours snuggled in bed while it snowed outside.

I love to read, write, and do most anything outdoors, with the exception of rock climbing and sky diving. (I have serious height phobias.) If there's something I can do within five feet of solid ground, count me in!
