For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She''s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment. But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora''s not sure...more

Sorry, BB, but OH SHIT NO.

The only good thing about this book is that that placeholder cover confirmed one of my assertions: baseball caps are not hot. IN THE LEAST. EVER.

Edit: okay, so I have a sick sense of curiosity, but I Googled this and came up with some more sketches. I have to say, the artist got Patch and Nora down. He looks like an asshole and she looks like an airhead. Well done!

Edit #2: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA FUCK WHAT THE FUCKING HELL IS WITH THIS FUCKING COVER I ASK YOU? That's...more

This is the old cover that I'm talking about in my review, just so I don't sound like a raving lunatic:

This has got to be the creepiest and most awkward cover I've ever seen.

What is he even doing? I mean, just look at the pose! It looks like he's either going to:
A. Go play some weird version of angel football
B. Just jumped through Nora's window and is about go kill her (out of love, of course)
C. Is extremely constipated and in dire need to take a shit

I'm going to say a mix of B and C because...more

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

And the madness continues!!!

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Is this the new fad in the YA world? Every series must have a graphic novel. Please, spare us the misery!

EDIT 1/1/13: I finally got the time to get this book again to take some pictures of it! Now I got proof about what I was talking about! Sorry for the bad quality of some pictures.

Actual rating: 1.5/5 rating

This graphic novel is SHITTY.
The characters in this book look nothing like their descriptions.

I only marked this crap "to-read" so I can rave on it. First comment: What the F**K? Second comment: Good books should never, I say NEVER EVER be made into graphic novels. Third comment: The sketches of Nora make her look like a low-paid hooker. Fourth (and final) comment: *scowl.

Hrm. Well th sketches are...odd.

It actually makes the characters even more boring to me when I had figured the oposite. I thought Nora had dark hair! Lmao.

Also is anyone else really curious exactly how fat Vee is going to be? The book makes it a constant thing but they're always euphemizing it, so now I confess myself interested even though the book should have just done the physical description and left it at that, I don't see why "Vee is chubby" has to be a constant point of characterization u...more

I Have One Thing To Say About This Book!

WHAT THE HELL!?

Okay, here are the give aways to my 'What The Hell?!':
1. Nora looks like a [beep]when wearing the clothes. No offense but she does.
2. When the attacker is supposed to have grabbed her shoulder he grabbed her wrist instead.
3. The wardrobe: Nuh uh! The skirt she wore was practically underwear! And she rips on Marcie about her clothes. And the shirt she was wearing wouldn't be even allowed to probab;y worn at school.
4. Their teeth look hideou...more

Not sure how I feel about this....I love graphic novels but not graphic novel adoptions of books. I feel like it takes away from the original image we create in our minds when reading. You know, like when you imagine a character then you open up the graphic novel and you're all like "HELL NO! HE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT!" Or maybe that's just me. Either way, I'll probably read the first couple pages and then put it down. Like I said, I'm not sure how I feel about this but promise me one thing: NO...more

I really don't know why I decided to torture myself. Really don't. I'm just going to say that reading this in graphic novel form really highlights all of the sexism and disgusting behavior that permeated the actual book. You get to see the coach in all of his disturbing, student-traumatizing glory. Patch acting like the stalker-douchebag that he truly is, all the while wearing baseball caps (I don't remember him wearing a hat in every scene in the book, but that's just me). And Nora truly looks...more

I don't really like to read graphic novel versions of books, because a) I already know the story so it isn't really exciting for me, and b) I like the version of the stories in my head. But I decided to read the graphic novel version of Hush, Hush because I was curious and, well, for Patch.

The main reason I wanted to read it? I wanted to see some of those steamy scenes between Nora and Patch. For example, I was looking forward to that awesome kitchen scene (all you fans know exactly what scene I...more

Graphic Novels can be either an introductory to a series or a refresher on a series. At least, that is my thoughts on them when they are based on a novel in the Fiction world. I am a casual reader of these novels and usually only read them after I have read the regular series first.

This graphic novel was honestly the worst ones I have read. The artwork isn't horrible as a whole, but it is such a contradiction to the original series and characters that obvious flaws are on every single page. Wher...more

Hush, Hush is one of those series that I really enjoyed and so I decided to pick up this graphic novel. I have a couple problems with this graphic novel mostly about Patch and Nora. I didn't really imagine Patch or Nora looking like they were depicted in the graphic novel. Nora is supposed to be kind a smart and conservative girl but in this graphic novel she dressed very inappropriate and slutty. I mean Nora looked like she was wearing a half shirt. It's kind of hypocritical that Nora and Vee w...more

My take on the story: Nora and her best friend Vee are just normal high school teenagers in a small town. Vee is boy crazy and Nora is school crazy and takes her school work very seriously. So, when she gets partnered with Patch to do a school project, it drives her crazy when he doesn’t cooperate.

Patch is handsome and cocky and seems to have a secret….and Nora is going to find out what it is. Nora and Vee get the plan to look up Patch’s school records but they were empty….not even an immunizat...more

I am a big fan of the Hush Hush Series by Becca Fitzpatrick. When Patrick from Sea Lion Books offered me a chance to review this before it comes out in March, so I decided to jump at the chance and review it. This is the first Graphic Novel I have read so this is a new experience for me. First I must say I actually really liked reading this as a graphic novel, it was neat having pictures to go along with the storyline. Second I really like how each character is depicted. The only thing I didn't...more

Well I have only ever read one other graphic novel so I don't know much about them. First off, I don't really like to cover. I think Patch looks weird and not at all what I imagined him to look at. I like how he is depicted further on though. He looks more like what I pictured. Nora, I must say, looks hot! Total girl crush here ha! I didn't like some of the outfits she wore though, they were kind of (for lack of a better word) slutty. It was really interesting to read the story and have pictures...more

I love the Hush Hush Novel but this! This is just unacceptable. The illustrations are nothing like them and IT IS NOT THEM. This is not patch and nora. The cover is a buff man maybe in his 30's give or take. Patch is a teenager-ish in looks and is lean and taut not beefy. Just right in physique. So I am very disappointed. No offense to the illustrator but This Sucks :I

Oh gosh no....no, no, no...will this torture ever stop?
And what the heck is up with that cover, if that's supposed to be Patch then I seriously got his image wrong. Or maybe it's not my fault and he was depicted wrong. The only reason I want to read this is out of pure curiosity and my love for graphic novels.

Now I like reading graphic novels based on books, but I did not like this book at all. So why would I do this to myself?

I don't know maybe cause I'm an idiot. Or maybe because somewhow I ha...more

Honestly this was not up to my expectations. I knew it wasn't going to be how I wanted it exactly but let's face it, none of the characters were close to what the descriptions were in the series. I love Hush Hush but this didn't do it any justice. After waiting for so long and it was finally in my hands I was screaming with excitement...then I saw Patch...Nora...and Vee. Smh... Seriously?! A graphic novel of Hush Hush?! DON'T.. JUST DON'T.. *shakes head dramatically* I mean look at his head!! This graphic novel is doomed to fail already for many reasons.. Not having read the original novel, I started this read knowing nothing about the story or the characters, and I guess that was good.
the story itself flowed pretty well along the comic, though I foud the sex-ed class a bit too long, and that first part (in the past) too ambiguous, especially because we get to the end of the volume without knowing anything more about it. Still, I understand this first volume was an introduction, but I just feel like not much happened, or not much has been explain...more

Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble with my brother and his friend. I asked if he could take me so I could get some new books, which I did. This is not one of the books I got.
While searching I found this tiny little slip of a book between A copy of Hush, Hush and some other book. I pulled it out and realized this was the Graphic Novel of Hush, Hush. I remember I had pre ordered that shit and waited several months of it being pushed back only for it to never come when it finally was released. I...more

As a big fan of comics and graphic novels I'm ashamed I waited so long for this book! First it kept getting pushed back. Month after month after month! When if finally did become available, you could never find it at any book store. So I turned to ordering, which took forever...now after seeing it and reading it I'd like my money back.

First off the graphic portion was bad. Patch looked like a boy who was just hitting puberty in most of the panels. Vee was suppose to be more curvier and have lon...more

Becca Fitzpatrick grew up reading Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden with a flashlight under the covers. She graduated college with a degree in health, which she promptly abandoned for storytelling. When not writing, she's most likely prowling sale racks for reject shoes, running, or watching crime dramas on TV. She is the author of the bestselling HUSH, HUSH Saga. HUSH, HUSH and CRESCENDO are in stores...more
