"Lately, I think you've forgotten which side you're on," he says to me. Instead of responding, I smile. I know exactly which side I'm on. Whichever one gets me the hell out of this place.

*Thoughts*
After winning a copy of this book through LibraryThing.com, I had initially sat down to read the first chapter or two just to get a feel for the story. The next thing I knew, it was 2 hours la...more

"Taken" grabbed my attention right from the first page. With a very unique and imaginative story-line, this book was a very pleasant surprise. I am not crazy about the cover. It does not do this psychological, Sci-fi justice.

Jackson is a mature 17-year-old boy who decides to drive his younger sister Aubrey to a fair three hours away in Brock County. But somehow they wind up lost and find themselves in a little town called Wicker Farm. The strange thing is that when they try to leave Wicker Farm...more

I liked the idea behind the story, that there is this mysterious town that Jackson and his sister Aubrey end up in accidentally when going for a drive one day, but they get trapped there. There is this whole idea behind the story is that is this a better place than their home or a dangerous town that they must get out of as soon as possible. The only thing is..how? They seem to have traveled through a portal into another world. There has been a recent loss of several of the townspeople and they...more

When I started Taken, I wasn't quite sure what I was diving into. Yes, I read the synopsis. But, I just wasn't sure what the book was. YA? YA Science Fiction? Psychological Thriller? Love Story? The answer. Yes, to all the above. Taken is a YA novel with some sci-fi, a lot of psychological thrills and a whole lot of love.

Taken opens in Wynn, USA, with Jackson and Aubrey. Jackson is a teenage boy who is more of a parent to little sister Aubrey than his needy, neglectful mom can ever be. When Jac...more

This book was a new style for me. I loved it and I hope the story continues on.

Jackson and Aubs are brother and sister. When Jackson takes Aubs on a trip to the fair they end up in a parallel universe. One that was ravaged of its people due to disease. So the survivors of this universe decide to build a machine that would bring people to them to rebuild their population. Jackson has spent the last year trying to get Aubs and their family back together. With a selfish mother, an absent father an...more

It started out promising, but then just became a jumbled mess toward the end. Also, there were so many type-o's and grammatical errors, it became distracting.

Really enjoyed this book, a definite touch of the Twilight Zone at the start. An interesting twist to a scifi storyline. Can't wait for Lost

Good enough to finish. Has some potential. Lots of typos, and several unanswered questions.

I liked the plot of this book. There were quite a few grammatical and spelling errors, things like that, but if you can look past them this books okay. It's engaging and the characters are likeable. So if you're someone who's going to cringe every time something grammatical comes up, I'd run far away from this book. But if you can look past that, and like the whole dystopian thing (I can't lie, I totally dig the Dystopia books) then this book is definitely worth giving a shot. It's a fun, easy,...more
