Written by the author of Scarlett, the sequel to Gone to the Wind, this book follows the tobacco industry as it began in North Carolina. Interesting and somewhat romantic, but not completely engrossing.

women who like history
Alexandra Ripley is a really great author; therefore, her books are engrossing reads and there is never a lull. This book was good to the last page!

Good. It's about a lady who never thinks very highly of herself, who's husband doesn't appreciate her until it's almost too late.
