If goodreads gave the option I would really rate this 3.5. I absolutely adored Julianna and Dane and their chemistry and the progression in their relationship was very believable. Plus the lack of unnecessary misunderstandings that seems to be in most HR books was refreshing. This was definitely the highlight of this series.
OH MY GOD! I finished reading this last night and I'm like.... this is the very best! I've read Justin's story, the perfect groom and I fell in love with him but daaammmnnn.. I fell more deeply in love with DANE! Julianna is one of the best heroines I know and I also adore her to the bones! I haven't yet read the first book because I've jump with Justin's story first and I wish there's more! I wish there's a fourth book with an all out epilogue! I love the Sterling siblings! and I cannot fathom ...more

Best of the series. Julianna's story. Rescued from a carriage accident by a Highwayman--the Magpie--Julianna's life becomes more interesting that she bargained for. SJ is a good story teller, I enjoyed the twist of the plot, intrigue, spies, murder, reunions and the resolution of the Sterling family. I'm glad I gave Samantha James' books a try.
He gave her kittens at the end of the book, so how could I not love it?

I was so wanting to read a book about a caring, adorable hero and am glad I came across this one. This was one of those stories where although predictable and simply lovey dovey romantic but I adored both H & h ..'Dane' was a darling!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

To begin, I want to say I liked this book and would have rated 3.5 if I could.

Dane (the hero) whose age I could not figure out, unwillingly abducted Julianna (27). Dane was the infamous highwayman Magpie but he was actually doing it for the Crown, apparently some kind of a civil service. Dane and Julianna spent some time together in a cabin where apparently they developed feelings for each other. Then they had to part for obvious reasons. He was a highwayman and she was lady. First half ended

Historic Romance Oh, my heart!

I am one who rates books purely based on the degree my heart is engaged, and, in this book, I was the heroine.

It hurt so much (view spoiler)Hurt, hurt, hurt!

But the impossible dilemma Juliana finds herself in provides the perfect amount of tragedy to make this book truly memorable.

And, (hopping up and down in my excitement here!), we have a true

The final book in the Sterling sibling trilogy, James writes Julianna's story. With high hopes for the author to wrap up the stories of characters the reader has become familiar with, the book does just that, but not nearly as well as the first 2 books. After 200 pages of the main characters, Julianna and Dane stuck in a cabin together recuperating from injuries, I was bored and wanted the story to progress. I finally skimmed the remainder of the book and read the epilogue just to read how it en ...more
I like the conceit of this story a lot more than I like the actual story. Julianna is fun, and it's pretty easy to figure out what exactly is up with Dane from the start, but they don't particularly grab me this time around, either. Their love story feels more like it's out of convenience than anything else, and though they're sweet with one another once things actually happen, it all feels more than a little contrived. Scandal! Misplaced anger! Lots of societally unapproved banging without marr ...more
Suka banget sama karakternya Dane, sikapnya pada Juliana benar2 sayang. dari bahkan dari awal ia memberikan panggilan sayang padanya, hmmm. awalnya juliana mengira ia baru saja di culik oleh perampok yang tengah santer ditakuti banyak orang. hingga ia kemudian berhasil mencuri pistol dari Dane yang tengah tertidur. ia berniat hanya menakut-nakuti Dane agar memberikan kunci cottage tempat ia dikurun, tapi tembakannya malah mengenai sasaran. ia tak tega meninggalkan Dane yang terluka dan malah mer ...more

The end of the trilogy, Juliana's story was a good wrap up to the story. This was a book I read at bowling, so took 3 Mondays, but I came home and fished it. Julianna is 27 and thinks she will never be married because she was left at the altar (we finally find out why) and her heart has been crushed and she doesn't want to be hurt again. But along comes a famous highwayman who must kidnap her as she is hurt. Many, many misunderstandings ensue, but we find out more about the Sterlings, and even m ...more

I enjoyed the concept of the book. It's easy to find a highwayman based story but difficult to find a good one. There were times when I found the story slow but despite those times I really enjoyed the book as they were few and far between.
What made this book was the characters. It was interesting to watch them interact with each other being unaware of the true station in society and being alone in the middle of know where. While it didn't allow for much interaction outside of the two I enjoyed

I Finally finished the Sterling trilogy! I must admit, I almost gave up during Juliana and Dane's Stay in the forest. It kinda dragged, but my trust in Samantha James' work kept me going, and she did deliver. I loved the ending about their mother. To me, that was unpredictable. It was not the simple happily ever after predictable story that you imagine when you start reading a story. It was intriguing, unpredictable and above all exciting.

I really enjoyed this one, the romance was well done and this being the last in a trilogy, it finished it off beautifully. I actually had tears in my eyes over the tender feelings shared between the Sterling siblings. That being said, I feel you have to read these in order to really appreciate and understand the depthness of the family relationships.

From start to finish in less than 24 hours... Enough said, really. What I liked about this particular series was it was not ALL about what goes on betwixt the sheets. No doubt, that aspect is gloriously present! Nevertheless, the book revolves around the story itself, not around the love scenes, making this a much more full bodied read.

4.5/5. Dashing highwayman and stoic yet vulnerable lady. Both not quite what they seem. He held up her carriage, then promptly saved her yet could not give her back her freedom. She shot him, then cried and saved him back. Two charming leads. What's not to love?

After falling asleep repeatedly I finally, thank God, finished the book. It's not painful. I just find it *yawn* boring.

Personalmente no me gusto demasiado, la historia es linda y original, pero no fue lo que esperaba cuando me lo compre.
Pretty interesting at first but unfortunately lost my attention as the story progressed.

Cruelly left at the altar, Lady Julianna has resigned herself to being alone. When she is abducted by a highwayman, she begins to think perhaps there is a future for her after all. The Magpie, as he is called, is really Viscount Dane Granville, undercover to bring down a murderous counterfeiter.

Julianna is an enchanting heroine and Dane is alluring as well. They both get on well with each other and their romance is sweet. There is definitely some tension with his secret identity that brings the

Growing up in Joliet, Illinois, Samantha James had many childhood aspirations--being a writer was never one of them. When she was ten, she was certain she was destined to be an astronomer. That soon changed (happened a lot during those pre-teen years!) when she decided archaeology was in her future. Detective work was her next goal, thanks to the Trixie Belden mysteries she was reading, and before ...more
