Una edición agradable y económica de tres obras de Echeverría. Se incluye el fundacional cuento "El matadero" que, ideología aparte, fue la base de toda la literatura argenta. "La cautiva" es un bellísimo poema narrativo, de esos que ya nadie se aventura a escribir, una pena ¿no? "Apología del matambre" es ideal para no sentirse mal siendo un carnívoro de un país emergente, y además el texto logra robarnos una sonrisa. José Esteban Antonio Echeverría (September 2, 1805 – January 19, 1851) was an Argentine poet, fiction writer, cultural promoter, and political activist who played a significant role in the development of Argentine literature, not only through his own writings but also through his organizational efforts. He was one of Latin America's most important Romantic authors.
