If you are looking for a novel that has characters that move you, bring you to tears, and stay with you forever- this is not the book. The characters (dare I say 6 main characters?) are sometimes hard to follow. I constantly kept referring to the back cover to ask myself- which angel is paired with which woman? To me, the women all seemed the same. They had different lives, different angels, and different problems (one couldn't get pregnant, another couldn't forget her 'deceased' husband and mov...more
Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy are three sincere but mischievous angels sent down to earth to answer three different sets of prayers. Shirley is to help nine year old Timmy Potter who wants a new father. His mother Jody has been a widow for many years but still loves her late husband and is not sure she is ready to start dating again. Goodness is to help Monica Fischer, a preacher’s daughter who wants to get married. The problem is Monica is a bit too prim and proper and the man she has fallen for...more

The 3 separate stories guided by 3 angels with personalities are amusing and touching, but sometimes unbelievable. The prayers are answered in ways that would not be expected. I did like the wholesomeness of the story.

This was a nice Christmas story. The one thing that bothers me about these types of books thought is I always find mistakes. In this book Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy are helping one women who wants a husband, one who wants a father for her son, and one who wants a baby. I was especially touched by the story of the women who couldn't get pregnant. ( I could really relate to her) However, that was where I found mistakes in this story. Either the author, or editor did not research fertility treatm...more
Shirely, Goodness and Mercy are 3 angels that have not been perfect. They must each answer someone's prayer. Before they can answer the prayer, they must teach a lesson to the person who will have their prayer granted.
Mercy must help a lady who wants a baby. The ironic part is that she is a nurse who works in
maternity.
Goodness is to help Monica Fisher who wants a husband, however, it has taken so long that she has almost given up hope of ever finding one.

I have never read anything by Debbie before so I was little hesitant. The plot seemed out of my usual characteristics of books I read. What I found? I need to be more open-minded! 3 women, each have their own wishes and 3 mischievous angels are sent to help them. The characters are down to earth and you grow to love them and hope that they find what they are looking for. Added twists close to the end of book threw me off and yet made me smile! Excellent book! I couldn't put it down until I finis...more
This story of angels helping familys in need was a nice read. I was in the mood for a Christmas story and there were untones of christmas but it was more background than I was looking for. I did like the fact life is showen to be not cut and dry, sometimes just when you think everything is going as you want you discover it isn't what you need. There are always angels around you to help guide and support is a nice thought.
This is a fast read with a feel good ending.

This is the story of 3 angels sent by Gabriel to answer 3 prayers from people on earth. One prayer is from a little boy looking for a dad, one is from a lady looking for a husband, and the last is from a woman who is trying to have a baby.
The book jumps back and forth between the three prayer request. The angels do meet up and discuss things but the other characters are not intertwined.
It is a very easy read, somewhat predictable, but still a good heartwarming book.

I usually really enjoy Debbie Macomber's novels but this book was too preachy for me. I realized a book about angels would probably reference religion a little but this was way too heavy handed for me. I felt at times like the preaching got in the way of the plot & character development. While this book won't cause me to give up on Debbie Macomber completely, it will make me give up on THIS series!

Three angels learn about love and devotion as they struggle to help grant three Christmas wishes.
With names of Shirley, Goodness and Mercy, these angels are a hoot! The event at the naval dockyard was very subtle and fun.
This was s quick read... I was sick in bed looking for a book a book that would lift my spirits and this is one!

A story of three angels that were sent to help three women with their problems. These three angels did things that angels were not supposed to do, like appear on multiple tvs. You pretty much thought that things were going to work out but there were a few twists as to how the did. A marriage was canceled, a marriage did occur for another. One of the women did get her wish but not in the manner she thought.
Three angels, three people with special prayers. Timmy wants a father, Monica longs for a husband, and Leah wants a child. Shirley, Goodness and Mercy to the rescue. Their interventions may not be conventional, but reading the story brings you laughter, a few giggles and hope. God never leaves you, you may have to be patient to see His plan.

Cute Christmas story of 3 women and their holiday wishes/prayers. They each have an angel assigned to them to "teach" them something before their wishes can be granted. I've read this before, but thought it would be a good way to get into the Christmas spirit.
This was a good, fast, mindless seasonal read. I got it at our book club's Christmas party, and while I typically steer clear of these types of romances because they are utterly unbelievable when compared to reality, in general. Overall, I liked this one, and once I got to a certain point, couldn't put it down.

I read this for the first time years ago and really enjoyed it. About every other Christmas or so I feel the need to check in again with Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy.
