If you expect tons of memory excercises, this is the WRONG book for you. This book is about keeping your brain healthy, in shape. It's about UNDERSTANDING MEMORY, ESTABLISHING MEMORY, PRESERVING MEMORY and last but not least, EXERCISING YOUR MEMORY. My best take-aways;

- non-sense and truth about the aging brain
- the danger of drinking coffee on an empty stomach
- when to take Calcium & Magnesium best
- memory and motivation
- the effect of sleep & excercises on memory
- protecting your memor

This was my first "for dummies" book. I've been suffering from some really horrible side effects of a few diagnosed and possibly as-yet undiagnosed conditions that effect my memory. I decided to pick this up for advice in cutting back as much memory funk as I can.

Improving Your Memory for Dummies by John B. Arden
Franco Ardo's review summs this book up wonderfully!
I find it a good book as far as 'for Dummies' series go. I enjoyed reading Improving Your Memory for Dummies. There were a few odd or poorly constructed sentences in the book that I had to re-read to grasp what the heck he was talking about, but nothing that really detracted fromm the whole of the book.
Basically, I would summ it up as ...Use it or risk losing it. There are no guarantees, but you can try to immprove your brain health thru food

Recommends it for: Self help readers
This book was ok as far as self-help books go. A lot of information was repeated and many parts were kind of tough to read.
