Land of Corn Chips is the second novel from author Angela Carlie, a middle grade fantasy. Nate is an eleven year old boy obsessed with wrestling and football. He is a kid that many of us can relate to, regardless of our age. He is an average kid, in a family divided by divorce. He feels that his dad has chosen his new girlfriend and her daughter over him and it hurts him. An offhanded wish he makes to himself proves to be the worst thing he could have done. In moments his life changes in unbelie...more

I love books that have a lot of fantasy and adventures in them, and this one really had a lot! In the beginning of the book, I felt really bad for Nate, because he wanted his father to be at his big game but his father wasn't there.

Then his father was supposed to pick him up but never did. This is when the weird guy with the purple-feather hat comes in and Nate ends up in the Land of Corn Chips. From there, Nate has a lot of adventures and has to figure out how to save himself.

Young readers will be treated to a ver...more

Nate is a typical tween boy. He likes to wrestle, he has no special powers, and his parents are divorced. After an ill-fated wish comes true, Nate finds himself riding on a mechanical dragon to the Land of Corn Chips. And yes, there really are corn chips there. Lots and lots of corn chips.

Soon after his arrival, Nate realizes that this far-off land is not so friendly. A pair of evil overlords who can’t stand each other rule the land. Children are forced to work in the corn fields, and there are...more

This is a fantastic kids book, and fun for the entire family. Angela Carlie has a great imagination and her words help you draw an outline in your head of the entire book, so that you can see what is happening page by page. I really enjoyed reading this book :)

Great Job!
