I read Sean Blacks first and second books and absolutely loved them. Ryan Lock is an ex-military bodyguard who has worked private security and has now set up his own company that can be called upon for any type of job. He has a partner Ty Johnson who is an ex-marine who Ryan met whilst in Iraq. Together they make a formidable team and seem unafraid to take on any type of work.

In this book, Ryan and Ty are asked to work for famous adult movie actress Raven Lane. Raven is lusted after by many peop

Ryan Lock is a close-protection operative, a former member of Britain's Royal Corps of Military Police now working in the United States. In Los Angeles, he is hired by Raven Lane, a performer in the "adult entertainment industry" aka porn movies. Raven is being stalked. People she has been in contact with are being gruesomely murdered. The LAPD are on the case which only makes harder the protection for which Lock and his partner are employed.

Sean Black provides a fast-paced, gripping narrative.

Lots of suspense in this novel. It's about a porn star who has a stalker and hires a body guard to keep her and her brother safe. It's a real life roller coaster ride for her as the stalker tries to get closer to her.

The Ryan Lock series is very, very good and this was the best one of the series. a serious twist toward the end that was unexpected but handled very well. Great books.

Wow. Every so often you discover an author or a book which is absolutely amazing and which once finished you want to tell the whole world about. This is one of those books. I discovered Sean Black last year when I read the first book featuring Ryan Lock, it was an enjoyable read. The second book I felt was also a great read, just a bit better than the first. I feel that this third book however is a whole different story and is so much better than the previous two. I would definitely rec

His books just keep getting better and better. When I started reading this one, I had it figured out before I finished 50 pages. Oops, was I ever wrong! The further I got into it, the more involved and twisted the plot became. The character development was also very interesting and unexpected. While the ending sucked, I can't say it wasn't expected but I must admit, not the way it happened. Definitely a must read.

Quick, easy read, decent plot and interesting characters. though some of the secondary characters seemed more vivid and developed that the main character. This could have more to do with the fact that I have not read the two previous books in the series, however. The apparent intent of the author to use some of the sleazier aspects of the California movie industry, i.e. the porn 'industry' worked well within the plot line.

There were several instances where the plot would have been at a standstil

Maybe it's because I haven't read the first two books (didn't even know there were any as I randomly picked this off the library shelf) but I just felt this came across as a lame jack Reacher?! I could be wrong, I shall now read the first two and then fully make up my mind.

Gridlock is amazing. It blew me away. It really brought out the characters and the plot was racing. It would have to be one of my favourite reads of the last half of 2015, and made me so excited to read the rest of the series. The feeling of this series is very similar to that of the Joe Hunter series by Matt Hilton, but the Ryan Lock series has just kicked it up into high gear at the end of this book. The final events made me drop the book in my lap and wonder how the world can be so cruel.

I didn't realize when I started reading Gridlock that it was the third book in a series or I probably would have held off reading it until I had read the first two books. I don't usually start mid-series because I prefer knowing the backstory of the main characters. Having said that, I felt that the book stood well on it's own. This is one of my favorite genres (action/thriller) and I wasn't disappointed. If I get the opportunity, I'd like to read Lockdown and Deadlock, the first two books in th ...more

This was amazing and was fast paced and hard to put down. It was full of action, suspense and drama and finished with loads of heartbreaking emotion to which I did not see coming.

I love reading Sean Black as they're always fast paced and gripping. Gridlock was another fine adventure for Lock & Ty, which had the usual twists and turns. I now have 'The Devils Bounty' in hand.

This is the third book in the bundle I downloaded. This one was marginally more interesting than the other two.

Read this one over christmas having devoured the previous novels in the series, and it's simultaneously my favourite and least favourite of the bunch - Sean made a seriously brave decision with one of the character arcs in this one, but for me, the way it was handled actually detracted from the strength of the character (desperately avoiding spoilers here) because it stole their personal victory in a stupid amount of random... but for that, five star all the way... because of that I came inches ...more

Decent read, Black seems to be moving Lock away from being Jack Reacher mk. 2. This lacked much of the fast paced action from Dead Lock, but was much more gruesome. There is one unbelievably stupid moment though that I can't believe happened, but I'll leave you to discover that little gem.

On another note, it was nice to have more back-story on Ty, who is a far more interesting character than Lock. I felt myself warming to him a lot and thought his scenes with Raven's brother Kevin, were quite s

Good read

Fast-paced, interesting plot. Good book for a snowy New England weekend with the fire burning and no urgent things to do.

Wow wasn't expecting that. Big fan of the series, the books are really fast paced and I enjoy reading them. Can't wait to read another of Ryan and Ty's stories but I'd understand if Sean Black decided to end it at this one and what an end! Unpredictable when all the clues seemed to make it the opposite. In order to follow the character's lives properly you should read the books in order.

This is the story of Ryan Lock, hired to protect porn star, Raven Lane, from a murderous stalker who is haunting her every move.

Like with all Sean Black books, this is a fast-paced, gripping read that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed this book, got a bit distracted by the symbols that were in some words instead of letters. I feel the ' mystery' could have been better defined as far as Ravens involvement ; however, it kept the mystery going.
