As a non custodial mom myself I found this book to be quite inspiring. And I also found that I am not alone in all the crazy feelings the come with being a non custodial mother.

It's tough to review this one because I'm going to try not give away anything from the description because what happens just because she opened that door is one of the biggest surprises I have had when reading a book in a very long time. I should say that the author contacted me and gave me a free copy in hopes I would review it. I was so intrigued by the description that I read it shortly after. Honestly, I wasn't sure it would be what it was. I thought it would be yet another "woe is me" tale. ...more

The description of this book caught my attention so I decided to enter this giveaway. To my delight, I'm a winner! This is book is about the life of a mother of 3 children that instantly changes in an instant. I found it heartfelt and inspiring as I didn't want to put it down. Looking forward to reading her next book!

Sophia Van Buren was kind enough to provide me with a review copy of this book and I’m so glad she did. I literally couldn’t put this book down and finished it in less than 24 hours.

Here’s the premise: What would you do if the life you were living suddenly crumbled beneath you? That’s what happened to Sophia, a suburban, financially-struggling stay-at-home mother to three kids. The night the police knocked on her door and she learned her husband’s devastating secret, she realized she could no l

Sophia is a devoted mother of 3 kids, she takes care of her house and her husband. Mike doesn’t stop in a job for too long, and they struggle to pay the bills. But everything changes when Sophia finds out what Mike has done. On their 14th wedding anniversary, and Sophia’s birthday, their lives start to change.

I must confess when Sophia contacted us to request a review for her memoir, my first thought reading the synopsys was that her husband

Unless you are having a hard time sleeping at night and need a sedative, take this off your list. It wasn't the worst book I have ever read and calling it terrible would be a bit unfair but it isn't good! I love memoirs and I love a good picking yourself up and starting over story. I kept waiting for the big moment and it just never happened. Spoiler here so stop if you don't want to know her life shattering news...... While I think her husband was a creep for sleeping around and taking ...more

It took me over six months from first learning of this book to finally purchase the hard copy and read it. I have discovered not a fan of e-books. Once I started, I couldn't put it down, despite feeling a tinge of guilt as it was like reading someone's diary. The unfolding of this woman's life demonstrates that the universe works in mysterious ways to bring you what you need; even though at the time it feels like the heartache cannot be withstood. It demonstrates that what we see on the outside ...more

This is an amazing read. Although it is labeled fiction, you just know it is all too true. Despite all the challenges thrown her way, Sophia manages to always put her children first and foremost ... despite being labeled "non custodian mother" in a negative connotation. I hope this author has started another novel! Her style reminds me of Jennifer Weiner and some of her books (only better!). I would love to see a sequel from her kids point of view when they are over 21. And maybe one from the ...more

A story about faith and hope

This is a well written story about life's challenges, & how courage, hope, and faith will dry up tears and allow the sunshine to bring us out of dark days of despair.
