This would have be a fantastic longer book. The story is a great one. The deputy sheriff of a small Alaskan town has to transport a fugitive to Miami. The fugitive turns out to be his lover. Quite a roller coaster and I loved the concept.

While it was a lovely little snapshot of their lives, Noah, the fugitive, was a bit more of mystery than Ford was to me. There was some great chemistry between them but things were definitely rushed because of the novella size. Still there was some lovely an

Ford is a deputy Sheriff in Alaska, content to live and die in the town he grew up in, eventually taking the place of his father as Sheriff. The arrival of Noah, the new bartender, adds a love dimension to his life. Noah soon moves in with Ford, and domestic happiness follows. Until, that is, a neighbor notices someone on America’s Most Wanted. Someone who looks a lot like Noah. Noah’s father checks it out and comes up with five outstanding warrants for Noah, drug related and murder. It is up to ...more

I really like it. I enjoy the emotional turmoil that Ford faces in between his job as a deputy sherrif and as a man who finds out that the love of his life might be lying to him all this time they've been together. I think Noah's way of trying to tell Ford of his innocence is pretty effective (yep, handcuffs, always handy *lol*). Although short, it packs a good punch for me to feel satisfied.

I live in Leigh on Sea, a small seaside town just outside London on the coast of Essex, about ten minutes from Southend, which boasts the longest pier in the world. I live with my partner and two ever-growing children, who I let think are the boss of me; along with a dog who actually is.

As the wonderful Beatrix Potter said, “There is something delicious about writing the first words of a new stor
