If you’re a woman who understands that choreplay is most definitely foreplay, that hiding the remote control is a valid strategy for getting the Honey Do List done, and that while there’s no such thing as “woman’s work,” there are jobs only a man should have to do, then this book is for you. And if you’re a man who still hasn’t quite gotten the choreplay message, who think...more

Women, admit it - we love our husbands just a little more than we hate them. :-) I think a famous actress once said that.

This book is really fun and cute. At first glance you may think that it will be mostly about sex and marriage. It's isn't. It's about all of the crazy things that happen between a husband and wife. I chuckled out loud quite often. The cartoons came through nicely in the Kindle version and were a nice touch to the stories.

If you want a good laugh and to feel like you aren't al...more

The Desperate Dad’s Guide to Getting Some is a book of short blog-type columns written by Jackie Papandrew. Nicely crafted, and very amusing, she goes smoothly from topic, to topic about what it’s like to be married for a few decades. From lines painted in the garage to help parking, to the use of “special soap” the author has a unique, but enjoyable style that kept me reading until I finished the entire book! After finishing each column, I was always ready for more!

While not an extremely lon...more

If you have been married/co habitating with the love of your life for any length of time then the well crafted, hilarious pieces in The Desperate Dad's Guide To Getting Some are likely to strike a chord. In sixteen years of marriage (and 21 years of togetherness) my husband still hasn't figured out that unpacking the dishwasher or vacuuming the floor are far more effective romantic gestures than a bunch of wilting flowers from the garage.
With wit and warmth, Papandrew prods at the seemingly univ...more

Okay...lets be honest here. I'm only 21 (22 on May 31st) so I know a lot of this doesn't apply to me even though Mr. Turning The Pages and I have been together for a few years now. However, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the book for what it is, and what it is is a hilarious insider's look into Jackie Papandrew's marriage and her views.

From the first page of the book I was addicted, I really don't think that there was a single part in the book where I wasn't giggling along with the writing...more

This is a quick, hilarious read. It made me laugh out loud more than once.

After being married for almost 26 years, I can relate to just about everything mentioned. There is one part about the author's husband and the barbecue grill that was so funny and it was exactly like the grilling experience at my house. I haven't laughed this hard while reading something in a very long time.

Very short. Funny short chapters on marriage. The funny and stupid things men and women do and how they see or handle things differently. Laughed outload a few time. Worth the read.

Hilarious and so true! A must read for desperate husbands wanting some "alone time" with their wives. Or in my case, I read it for him and told him all about it.

despite what the title may imply, this book was well written with plenty of clean laughs.
Joyce
Funny, but not much for substance or even reality in places.
