In "investigating" this book 2 in the Ray Quinn series, I came across a comment by the author that this is the last book in the Quinn series. So thankful that I could go in to this preparing myself for the series to end. Otherwise, I might be more bereft than I already am. :) I loved book one and loved this book two/too. Frankly, from the ending, I would have thought Mynheir had set the perfect framework for a third book, so I am glad to have been forewarned.

I am going on to read more books by

Ray Quinn, currently a Private Investigator, is an ex-homicide detective formerly with the Orlando Police Department. He retired from the OPD after being shot in the leg while tracking down a murderer. Now he has to rely on a cane and a bottle of Jim Beam to get him through the pain everyday. In addition to his friends on the force, his support staff consists of his partner-in-training, Crevis, who provides the muscle, while learning the ropes. Also, helping is Pam Winters, whose murdered brothe ...more

The Corruptible is the second book in a series about cop-turned-private-investigator Ray Quinn. Now, if I had noticed it was the second book in a series at the time I was choosing a book to review (I received The Corruptible for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review), I would not have selected it. I did not read the first, and have a fairly hard-and-fast rule about not going out of order in a series if I can at all help it, because I don’t like feeling like I’m missing ...more

I won The Corruptible from First Reads. It took me a few pages to adjust to this genre but I did enjoy the book.

This is about Ray Quinn, a Private Investigator, an ex-homicide detective formerly with the Orlando Police Department now retired after being shot in the leg while tracking down a murderer. Relying on a cane and a bottle of Jim Beam to get him through the pain everyday he uses his mental capacity to track the antagonist throughout the story. With the help of friends on the force, his s

Ray Quinn had been a Homicide Detective when he and his co-worker/fiancé were gunned down. The doctors patched up his hip and leg as best they could, but it’s painful and he relies heavily on a cane, as well as his good friend Jim Bean. His fiancé didn’t survive. He creates the Night Watchman Detective Agency after solving what turned into a high profile case that the police thought had been a murder suicide, while working as a night watchman in the building the murder took place; the first book ...more

Ray Quinn, ex-homicide detective and current PI, finds himself investigating much more than a murder case when he takes on a rich client with secrets to hide, secrets he's willing to pay Ray big bucks to find and to turn over. When Ray begins to uncover the truth, his own life is in danger, perhaps by the very people who hired him.

I enjoyed this book. The characters are well-developed, the plot is exciting, and there are a few twists to the story. Two things stood out to me and made this book a

I love good detective novels, and this is a great one. Mark Mynheir has given us a complex character in his Private Investigator Ray Quinn, one that reveals his layers little by little. But at the same time, Ray isn’t static. As he reveals himself to his friends and to us, we see him growing, changing, and digging deep into his personal challenges.

In “The Corruptible”, Ray is hired by financial magnate Armon Mayer to investigate the theft of some information from his company. When the suspect is

Interesting Characters. So-so mystery.

The Corruptible is the second in the Ray Quinn mystery series. It is written by now-retired police officer Mark Mynheir who adds a touch of authenticity to his work (although he misses the most obvious clue at the beginning of this mystery).

Ray Quinn is a former Orlando police officer turned Private Investigator who was forced to retire due to disability as a result of being shot through the hip. His replacement hip is painful and he needs to walk with a

NOTE: I received this book from the Amazon Vine Program

Ray Quinn is now working as a PI for his Night Watch Man Detective Agency with Crevis, a young man trying hard to become a cop, and Pam, part-time administrative assistant. After a rough tumble in a men's bathroom, Ray gets an offer from Mayer Holdings to find some information that Logan, a former employee & "bad cop" stole. But as Ray digs, he learns this case gets weirder and weirder.

The Corruptible begins with Ray Quinn, an ex-cop, private investigator working on a case with his sidekick, Crevis. "The Corruptible" by Mark Mynheir is easily one of the best "thriller" novels this year. Admittedly, it started off a bit slow but once the plot began to thicken I was entranced. The characters are highly likable and the plot has more twists and plot turns than a Patterson novel.

The story follows Ray, a retired Orlando police officer turned private investigator, as he tries to solve a case involving a stolen hard drive. Ray takes on the powerful Armon as a client and tries to locate some "highly

This is my second foray into the life of the world weary, sometimes sarcastic – sometimes facetious cop turned P.I. known as Ray Quinn and I do believe that THE CORRUPTIBLE is even better than the first book in this series THE NIGHT WATCHMAN.

Author Mark Mynheir has presented his readers with a strong and interesting cast of characters ranging from the cop wanna-be dyslexic sidekick, Crevis, to a filthy rich Howard Hughes type germaphobe. While not categorized as Christian lit, the book does feat

If you read the excerpt above I'm sure you love the first line: DYING ON THE TOILET was not how I envisioned leaving this world, as much as I did! I received an ebook copy of The Corruptible by Mark Mynheir from WaterBrook Multnomah for the purpose of this review. It is the first Christian suspense/crime/detective novel that I've read. If you haven't already heard, Mark Mynheir author of The Watchman has written a new Ray Quinn Mystery Novel. And although this is an excellent follow-up to The Night Watchman, make no mistakes about it; The Corruptible truly stands fully on its own, as a first rate detective novel from a real detective.

In The Corruptible, we find Ray Quinn an ex-Orlando Police Department-homicide detective being hired by, Armon Mayer, a Germophobic and the wealthy head of an investment firm - to recover a 300

“The Corruptible” is part of the Ray Quinn series by Mark Mynheir, and the hero, PI Raymond Quinn, nursing a bum leg, bears a striking resemblance to another PI—Colton Parker, whose four-book series is authored by Brandt Dodson.

Like Colton, Ray is not a believer but has believers close to him; in Colton’s case, it’s a FBI agent and in Ray’s case it’s Pamela, who is aiding Ray’s partner Crevis with some basic education; Crevis wants to eventually apply to the police academy but is apparently dysl

I've made the decision to just read books written by men for a while. No ooey-gooey romance. I want my conflict to be more than just "should I go out with this guy or not?" or "should I tell him that I love him?" As horrid as this sounds, I want murder. I want lying. I want mystery. I want crime solving or legal dilemmas. I want the male leads to not be the kind of guys you melt over.

Ray Quinn is far from dreamy. He drinks too much. He only watches movies starring John Wayne. He's extremely sar

Old-fashioned gumshoe detective stories are really things of the past. Modern stories are all CSI-ish with crime labs and fingerprints and all that technological stuff that makes solving a crime really hard for the average reader. Not so with this story. It is a throwback to the good, old days of Raymond Chandler and other masters of the art of sleuthing.

The story centers around Ray, who used to be a cop. An injury from a gunshot wound has him off the force and making other plans for a living an

This writer likes words, and he admires his characters, with all their foibles, uncertainties and flaws. Consequently, this book is refreshing and a pleasure.

The characters were well developed, warts and all, including confronting alcoholism, questioning religion, and missing old loves, while simultaneously catching the bad guys. I lived with them for awhile, got to know them - not just a cleverly worded caricature of them - and, thus, when I finished the book, I missed them just a little. That'

It took me a few chapters to become reacquainted with Ray Quinn but once that was taken care of, I was pretty well hooked. It was refreshing to find a fairly flawed hero - past his prime, physically handicapped, emotionally challenged, and an alcoholic. Although I don't watch the series, I kept picturing Ray as Dr. House. It was probably the cane but for whatever reason, the image wouldn't leave me.

The Corruptible narrates the story of a case Ray has taken after starting his own detective agency
