Mom Energy is a book filled with some good tips on how moms can have more energy throughout the day. The different secions of the book cover nutrition, exercise, sleep, and making time in the day just for you. The book is written by a dietitian and a fitness trainer, both have years of experience and some well researched ideas on how to increase energy that will also help to improve overall health.

Mom Energy is packed full of information. Some of it is quite scientific to gain a deeper understanding of how the body uses energy and the impact that the lack of energy has on health. The rest is strategies for making lifestyle changes that will increase your energy level. Nothing in this book is a quick fix for energy. The only way you are going to see results is if you are willing to put in the effort to make taking care of yourself and your energy levels one of your priorities.

This was an advanced copy I got from Netgalley.
Overall, I enjoyed this book, especially the Reorganizing and Rehabilitation sections. The purpose of this book is to give busy moms more energy with a three-step strategy: Reorganizing your priorities and eating habits, Rehabilitating your body by taking better care of your digestive system, detoxing and supplementing it with vitamins, and Recharge your body by exercising, getting enough sleep and remembering to fit in some playtime. It discusses...more

Mom Energy: A Simple Plan to Live Fully Charged by Ashley Koff R.D. doesn't offer much more than what has been delivered in other health and fitness books I've read. Subjects included: getting enough sleep, don't wear yourself thin, dealing with stress, drinking plenty of H2O, eating right (including what foods to eliminate from your diet) and exercising, prioritizing, the importance of antioxidants, the importance of "me" time, etc. There were quizzes at the beginning to figure out what "mom ty...more
The title of this book is something I'm seriously lacking in, so of course when I saw it listed at NetGalley I requested it and got stuck right in.
For the most part, I think the book delivers on what it says it will. It presents the information in an easy to understand way, with lots of tips and step by step processes for instigating necessary changes in your life. I liked their little quiz about what kind of mother you are (I'm the Zombie Mum - never enough sleep!), and felt like this book act...more

I picked this book up because I, like so many other working women and mothers, feel as if I'm on the edge of burn-out every other month. I was able to glean a few note-worthy action items, but for the most part, the majority of the book was something I either had read before and just needed reminding of, or had read before and have already applied or attempted to apply. The authors offer plenty of helpful ideas, knowing not everything will work for everyone, and encourages the reader to use what...more
I was excited to see this book at my book store. I am a mom of a 2 and 4 year old. I feel like I never have enough energy for it all. The beginning of the book seemed promising, but being a mom with no energy, I lost interest pretty soon. There were breadcrumbs promising tips that would work for me, but about 100 pages in I hadn't read anything that I hadn't heard before. There was some talk about getting more sleep, which I would LOVE, but it just doesn't happen. I work late and the kids are up...more
