I find this book an affront to any self-respecting woman. Actually, this book is an insult to all women, full stop.

After I read this book in 2011, I decided to have a break of Lynne Graham stories. For a few years, I tolerated her heros with manwhore behavior and not celibate during separation, but a hero who got drunk and have one night stand with an ex aka "villain-other-woman" from first book! I remembered couldn't forgive that to this author (T_T)
P.S. I forgot to mention, as a result of that one night stand, the ow got pregnant, had the baby and died. That was "so convenient" *roll eyes*
The one night st

The hero Sander and the heroine Tally are on the verge of a divorce. Their marriage broke down after the devastating stillbirth of their son. Tally and Sander had both struggled with their grief in their own way, causing them to grow apart and eventually Tally had left. Now, eighteen months later, Sander realises that he doesn't want to let Tally go, he goes to see her when she is at their former home collecting some of her belongings, and they have an explosive reunion. But it's not enough for ...more

What an awful husband, I wish this wasn't an HP novel, and the wife left his in the end!
Aly is so frigging bored
Main characters:
Tally
Sander

Why I added the book: It's the sequel of The Marriage Betrayal.

About the book:The 2nd novel starts about 1 year and a half from where the either one left of. Evidently things went south and now Tally and Sander are in the process of divorce. They managed to f*uck things up and now Sander is trying to reconcile.
I can't begin to tell you how much Tally got on my nerves. She's judgmental, has double standards and keeps making stupid decisions. She accuses Sander of keep

What a downer! The title of this book should have been changed to The Marriage Betrayal which is actually the title to Book One, the prequel and far more romantic book which introduced us to Tally and Sander.

Grief-stricken by the death of a loved one, Tally pushed Sander away while Sander caved in to weakness which caused them even more grief later on. (view spoiler)

Just when I thought Ms Graham couldn't do worse, she saddens me with this crap.
There was:
A cheating husband (hero)
Illegitimate child (hero's)
Bad parents (of the hero's)
Shopaholic mother (heroine's)
And Post Traumatic Stress (heroine's after the death of her child, also the reason hero cheated in the first place).
Heroine should have kicked him to the curb. But this being an LG book, of course she lost her backbone and turned into a door mat.

I have to agree with another reviewer that said the book is an insult to all women. The worst Harlequin present I have ever read.

Better than the first book but still depressing that hero had a child with another woman! But he definitely matured!

Es mi primer reseña de un libro de Lynne Graham al que, si pudiera, le daría menos de una estrella. Yeah, I know, it's amazing, but true...

Both books THE MARRIAGE BETRAYAL & BRIDE FOR REAL i found O.K. However, few facts still nagged me raw. Sander and Tally's relationship to me seemed more based on their sexual chemistry than emotional one. At least, more on Sander's part. Maybe i felt that because Lynne Graham tended to concentrate a little more on diagnosing Tally's feeling than Sander's to her readers. Their marriage from the beginning established on lie and blackmail. Not to mention Sander's resentment believing that Tally ...more

It was the usual Lynne Graham style. Young girl with older playboy type book. Heroine is usually immature but through trouble relationship with Hero, grow up and become mature, etc. I liked this story but I have problem relating the end. Babys usually bring togetherness to trouble relationship if there are no other problem. In this case, the heroine gave birth to Stillbirth son who will always on her mind whether she gave healthy baby next time or seeing someone else's child. Her husband's ...more

Maybe it's because my expectations were so low based on what others have said about it, I'm amazed that I liked this book as much as I did.

Both the hero and heroine make HUGE mistakes in this book (and The Marriage Betrayal), but I don't think the biggest mistakes are her constantly running away or his having an affair while they were in the process of getting divorced. Their mutual mistake is that they (like so many HP protagonists) consider great sex as a substitute

Lynne Graham is one of my favorite author and she didn't disappoint with Volakis vow. Bride for Real is the second part of Volakis vow (the french edition came with the two parts in one book). I liked the first part The Marriage Betrayal but I loved even more this one, Bride for Real. It was so intense and emotional, so much that the characters' feelings truly hurt at times. In the first part, the characters are very young (she is 20, he is 25) and carefree. Though he is hardworking and a succes ...more

I did end up liking both books marriage betrayal and bride for real. I think how they are both titled and how backs were written made me think I would not like them. Both were books to me that I enjoyed surprisingly.
Sander and Tally were months away from final of their divorce. Sander lawyer told her that they were going to put the house in France up for sale. If she wanted anything she would have to go and get it.
Tally went that weekend and was packing her clothes she left behing, when Sander f

I was expecting this book to just be a standard Mills and Boon novel, but instead it ended up being quite a kind study of two people struggling to deal with the death of a child. I found it to be sad and hopeful at the same time, despite the machinations behind the scenes of the main relationship that always seem to exist in novels like this. Really after reading three Mills and Boons books in a row in the last few days, I definitely think that Lynne Graham is a much more skillful and thoughtful ...more

Well, I am proud to say I enjoyed this book! I read Part 1 & 2 all in one sitting. This story absolutely broke my heart, I was like at the verge of tears at many parts, but it was also very heartwarming. I loved the hero & heroine & how they took situations in a calmer manner than most Harlequin books usually do. Sanders is tall, dark, & handsome, but i think he wasn't ruthlessly cruel like most heros. & that's what attracts me to his character. Tally, the heroine, I love the ...more

A good read that is a little better for the characters had learned from some of their mistakes in the first one. I liked the ending a lot better in this book and was a lot happier after reading this one. There were plenty of ups and downs, emotions, some really good growth, some coming to terms, better relations, and a great HEA. This one still had a bit of anguish and was definitely felt like an emotional rollercoaster. Sad, Happy!, angry, sad, happy. It was written well and definitely had me ...more

I hate both sander and tally. sander seeking sex as a refuge for every problem. According to me every woman loves both her husband and child equally. How could tally behave like that to sander, who is also grieving for his child and much worse than her in handling emotion. since i hate both the main character the story didn't appeal to me so much. Even after finishing the story i didn't feel like they were in love. They were together for the sizzling sex and for her father. 2 stars for tally ...more

I am happy and satisfied I bought this book. The Marriage Betrayal, which tells the regular Harlequin romantic story. The surprise is in this sequel is that characters are more true to life. Developed characters, who get illogical by grief and sorrow, the inner developments of mutual understanding and forgiveness that lead to strengthening true love and forever. Read the reviews, the bad and the good but don't get discouraged to buy the book and make your own judgement whether Tally and Sander ...more
