This book is about three frogs who argue all the time. They argue over who owns the island. A toad tells the frogs that he is really tired of all the bikering. One day a storm floods their home and they have to live together on a rock, that in reality is the back of the toad. Through the process of living on the toad the three frogs learn to share.

Great book on sharing! This book uses a few of nature's inhabitants to teach its readers a very valuable lesson on how ugly selfishness really is. I appreciate this book because it shows how caught up we can get in ourselves and how we may need the viewpoint of others to bring us back to reality. I will definitely be using this book in my classroom and even with some friends! It's so funny how we argue about petty things that are her today and then gone tomorrow. I would want my students to see More...

This is a good story about possessiveness and squabbling. I find it interesting that our girls picked out two books that examine "sibling" relationships and the infighting between them. We also read My Rotten Redheaded Older Brother by Patricia Polacco today, and while the two books are very, very different, they both examine the extremes of bickering and getting along that occur within families. We enjoyed reading this book together - it's tales like this that helps show the best ( More...

Milton, Rupert, and Lydia are frogs that never agree. During a storm they all share what they think is a rock. This rock turns out to be the toad and realize that the beauty around them is ours instead of mine.

Great book about sharing and community. This is a very clever book to teach young children the importance of sharing and working together. I love Leo Lionni's illustrations. A great read and great message.

My two girls were going through the mine phase and when I sat them down and read them the story of It's Mine! did they see how silly they were being. A great pick for the kids.

Interesting story about 3 frogs who don't like to share. Nature has a way of teaching our frogs a lesson in sharing. Lionni's illustrations are consistent with his other work.

Frogs learn a lesson about selfishness and the power of sharing from a toad. Illustrations have a paper cutout feel with watercolor texture detail in the cutout shapes.

The message for this book was a good one, but I didn't feel like the story was the best way to portray it. I did enjoy looking at the illustrations and I thought the little frogs were especially cute. I might recommend.

This story about the limits of selfishness is amplified by a messianic character who shows the frogs a different way. Eliminating the root of selfishness creates a harmonious situation for all. Recommended.
