I've just finished reading The DIY Guide to Social Media Marketing and eBook Publishing by Coral Russell and I was inspired to immediately write this review. It's an invaluable reference book for all authors, particularly self-published authors and all this information for only $0.99! The task of being an independent writer can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, after all, we are solely responsible for writing, proof-reading, editing, publishing and marketing our books.

The (almost) Complete DIY Guide to eBook Publishing contains a great deal of information that would help any would-be writer navigate the complex world of self-publishing. The problem, however, is that navigating the book itself can be challenging.

While the book does not tell a writer how to actually *write* a book (that, the author says, is best accomplished by practice and hard work), the DIY Guide does explain how to publish and promote an indie book.

The advice offered in this book is compreh...more

The (almost) Complete DIY Guide to eBook Publishing is just what it sounds like. It’s a how-to manual for anyone looking to get into self publishing.

As someone new to the self publishing scene, this work has been invaluable for me. Russel takes the reader through pretty much the entire process from writing to formatting, to finding your audience, to successfully promoting your work.

To me, there are two key strengths to this book. The first is the thoroughness of the author’s overview of the publ...more

This book is well worth the price. Coral has done a fabulous job of putting together a very useful resource with information to help you with every step of writing an ebook including links and advice for everything from style guides to formatting to publishing and marketing. She even provides input on which sites and services she's tried herself.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this ebook.
I am also a contributor for this book. (But I don't get any money when you buy it.:-) )

Coral Russell's DIY Guide for the Independent Writing Community is rich with sound advice. It is packed with references that the author has checked thoroughly and reads like a checklist for success. Readers/writers will be able to put much of the content to use right away. I'm so glad we have experienced and generous authors like Ms. Russell who make it easy for the rest of us. This guide would be worth it at twice the price!
