We all go through hardships and trials - very personal and very real to each one of us. And there is great encouragement to be found in the stories of those who have clung to faith and hope throughout those difficult times in their lives. Jeremy Camp's declaration of faith (found in the title of his book - I Still Believe) sets the theme for this down-to-earth, simple, and yet powerful read.

What a better time to discover a terrific love story than Valentine's Day.
I Still Believe is a testimony of the love story that God wrote for Jeremy Camp, one of the top Christian Musicians today. The book has been co-written with David Thomas and it lays out a wonderful and amazing story of God's power.
Jeremy's first wife, Melissa died of cancer only months into their marriage. God had prepared Jeremy for it in many ways that he didn't see until after. For example, he wrote the words to Walk By...more

When I first say Camp’s Memoir I was excited and knew I had to read the book, but as I was reading the book I kept thinking he’s too young to have experienced the kind of pain he has. I knew his songs were written deep from the heart and no matter what I was going through at the time, they never failed to touch me and challenge me into a deeper relationship with God. I knew the book would do no less.
And I was right.

My Rating: 5/5
“Even when I don’t see, I still believe.” The words of Jeremy Camp’s song I Still Believe, have reached out to and connected with thousand of people around the world, as has many of his other songs. But what inspired Jeremy to write these words that he shared with so many people? In this memoir, he shares his testimony and the story (or stories) that inspired and encouraged...more

After seeing Jeremy perform last weekend, I was excited to read his story. Like most fans, I knew of the death of his first wife. But to know her story, in all of its fullness, is still impacting the world for Christ years after she's passed. The book is a quick and easy read. I already have a line of friends that want to borrow the book. I will gladly oblige, but not before I have my two oldest girls read his book! I can see how his testimony, and that of his family, can provide great encourage...more
I bought this book knowing a little bit about Jeremy’s testimony. Jeremy lost his first wife to cancer & he also had a miscarriage with his second wife. He was very poor growing up & now he’s a Christian artist who lifts up so many people through his music. Now after reading this book his music means so much more to me. This book walks you through Jeremy’s real life example of walking by Faith & leaves you yearning to want to know God & trust God more. It’s a simple down-to-earth...more
Jeremy Camp. I never knew anything about him other than he is a Christian singer/musician. Period. He opens his heart during the writing of this book and shares weakness without sounding like he is or was a victim, just human. I liked the book. Without giving away too much of the book (which I hate to do because I don't want to spoil it for others) he shares his grief's as well. It not a negative book either, there is plenty of joy and appreciation flowing through it. He also gives the lyrics to...more

I received this audiobook courtesy of Christian Audio for the purpose of writing a review.
Narrator Thoughts - Not much to say one way or another. He did have a good voice and put some good emphasis into the words, but it wasn't amazing.
Book Thoughts - When I saw this book come up on my list that I could review I jumped at the chance. A few months ago I saw Jeremy Camp in concert and was impressed by his humility and his honesty. So when this book came up I was so excited to read more a...more

I liked listening to memoirs, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. I didn't know much about Jeremy Camp apart from his first wife dying not long after he married her. I enjoyed aspects of it, like the stories from the author's childhood and of God's provision throughout his life. I also enjoyed hearing about his encounters with God through his grief after his first wife died. It was good to hear about his new wife and family and that he still believes in God, that he didn't...more
This book made me feel the Lord so closely! Jaremy's testimony is gret and blessed by God, and he truly spreads light on life's trials and mysteries. Jeremy'z music also helps me in so many ways, but the book hit me even deeper! It reminded me how important it is to read the Word, and hos you should always count yourself as blessed! Jeremy has gone through so much, but the Lord has been ever present in everything he has endured, and it's truly wonderful. I recommend this book, not only to life-l...more
Jeremy Camp with David Thomas - "I Still Believe" - Tyndale Publishing, ISBN 978-1-4143-7559: Jeremy Camp's name is not one that you would normally think of as an average person. His name is known throughout the Christian music business for praise and worship music and heart-changing lyrics that share testimonies of faith, unwavering love and trust.

I love Jeremy's music. It's ministered to me in some of the worst of times, giving me hope and renewed deep faith when I needed it most. There Will Be a Day was played at my mom's funeral and still means so much. I Still Believe as a song has blessed me so greatly and his book by the same title just caused me to thank and praise God for His love and sovereignty. In this honest, open, and simple book, Jeremy Camp encourages his readers to put the Lord's will and glory first, then worship & pr...more
I started listening to Jeremy Camp’s music probably around the mid-2000s and my top three favorites of his are This Man, Restored, and Walk by Faith. When I first heard his music, I liked it – especially those three favorite songs – but I wouldn’t have necessarily called him my favorite artist. I am definitely not claiming to be a music critic, but I often thought that Camp’s music lacked…something.

I loved this book!!! If you aren't a huge fan of Jeremy Camp, you will be after you read this book.
Jeremy starts at the beginning & shares the story of his parents coming to Christ, which if full of God's fingerprints. And then he shares his own spiritual journey, which has been a series of ups-and-downs, especially for his relatively young age.
His story is a powerful one. I think it is easy to identify with his story because it is so similar to many Christians own experiences - for example...more

Loved the lyrics that were included which showed the author's personal struggle with his faith and the real life issues that were happening. His descriptions of the grief he experienced echoed my own valley. It was comforting to know that others have walked a similar path and asked the same anguished questions. Not a book I could have read 6 months after losing my mom to cancer, but one I can read today and handle the waves of emotion better. Good read overall.
I literally couldn't put this book down. Hearing Jeremy's testimony and what he went through has allowed me to realize that God is truly with us in our darkest times. Hearing about his wife Melissa and how on fire and sold out she was for God has truly inspired me and makes me want to better my relationship with God. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. And always know that God is always by your side and even though we may not see it, He has a reason for everything.
I bought this book after hearing a DJ talk about it on the radio. When I saw how small it was, I thought it would be a light read and proceeded to keep it on my bathroom shelf. However, what I found was that the Lord used Jeremy's faith and the faith of his first wife to challenge me in my own and to encourage me that even when things are hard we are to carry on in our faith, believing that our God is always in control!

I thought this book was very good. It almost made me cry. The story behind it is very moving, and a very powerful way for his word usage. He is my favorite artist in the world. And after this book I will love him forever no matter what. I recommend this book to anybody who has the 2 hours to put in to read this wonderful book. If you like touching books this is the book for you.
I've always loved hearing testimonies, whether from a stranger or from those I am close to. Jeremy Camp shares his testimony, no holds bar, allowing you to see Gods work of grace in his life as though you were his best friend. The testimony is powerful, the message is real, the effect of reading is powerful. I highly recommend this book!
What an incredible life Jeremy Camp has lived so far! His valley of shadow has been deep and long but through it all he's held on to his faith in God. This man truly lives every song he's written and the Lord has blessed this man with incredible talent. I thank the Lord for giving us this man to spread His word!
I've been wanting to read this book for a year and finally was able to borrow a copy last night. I read it in 2 hours, devouring Jeremy's testimony of how God carried him through tremendous grief to victory in knowing that God works all things together for the good of those who love him. So many of his sentiments echoed the feelings I've experienced over the past year and a half and put words to some truths that God revealed to me over time. I've been a fan of Jeremy's music for years, but readi...more
What an amazing story. I am familiar with Camp's music, but hadn't before heard his story. What an amazing testament to the amazingness of God.

I was interested to pick this up because I've enjoyed Jeremy Camp's music for several years and never knew the whole story about his first wife's battle with cancer (having never been to a concert and not listening to CCM radio, I guess). This was more than an interesting biography, though, it was a very hopeful little tome about living with the sickness and passing of a loved one, and living one's life after a huge loss. I especially appreciated the Scripture notations in the footnotes for furt...more

“I'm not sure what the Lord has in store for my future, but I can say for certain that music is not my life. Christ is my life. I love writing, singing, and playing songs that He gives me to share, but whatever He has for me in five or ten years, I want to be willing to step into it. I never want to hold so tightly to my vocation that I lose out on His higher plan.”

“Along the way, my Heavenly Father has taught me that the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control - is really just a byproduct of spending time with the Lord. It results from dwelling in His Word and listening for His voice. As much as we might try, we can't go out and manufacture peace. We can't conjure joy or whip up faithfulness in the microwave. Those things come to us only as we receive God's love, focus on bringing Him glory, stick close to Him, and live out the greatest commandment: loving God with everything we have and loving others in His name.”
