Maggie, a talented glass-blower, is approached by the very wealthy Rogan, a big shot in the art world who wants to make her famous. She's reluctant to enter into a contract with him, but financial concerns related to her family pressure her into accepting. Maggie and Rogan's story- while I loved Maggie's attitude and stubbornness and always enjoy seeing that kind of character come up against a worthy male opponent and unravel, it took me a while to get into it and I never completely fell for either lead- Rogan being the epitome of snap-of-the-finger type Roberts hero, just a bit too much for me. But it did charm me into the Concannon world and I fell for that far more than I thought I would.

Another trilogy by Nora Roberts also set in Ireland. If you've read any of her trilogies you know how they work, each book focuses on a different member of the same family. This book is about the oldest of three sisters who is a glassblower, and her love affair with the man who owns the gallery that carries her pieces. A lot of fun, not just the typical romancey stuff that I find annoying.

This is my favourite in the Born In trilogy. I think because I can relate the most to Maggie's character. Not bowing down to anyone and living life on her own terms. And, of course, the Ireland connection. Who can resist that? It was also fun reading these books then going to Ireland and seeing the disconnect between the country and the jackeens (Dubliners) in real life. So great! :)

Looks I'm solidly into a romance kick for these dog days of summer: time to read some Nora Roberts trilogies I've never read before. Like all of Roberts's heroines, this one's sassy as hell, and just damaged enough to be realistic. Luckily, book two is waiting on my bookself.

Great book by Nora! Love it. The only thing I didn't like about this particular one is that it didn't really reveal much of the characters thoughts. It just went from one minute i can't stand you, to I love you. Just like that. Ended kinda abruptly for me.

Typical for one of the Nora Roberts trilogies. But this time in Ireland, which is fun. Also the female lead in this one is a glass blower, so you get to look inside what that involves a little.

I don't remember exactly what this series is about. I think it's about some women in Ireland, but I could be wrong. I've read so many books by Nora Roberts. Again, good trilogy though.

I love Nora Roberts!! This one was one of her better ones, I always had a hard time putting it down. There are 2 more in this Trilogy, so I am going to have to hit the library!

This whole 'Born In' series is just wonderful. I love the fact that all three stories take place in Ireland and Nora really captures the feel of the country.
